What Were John Cusack and Marisa Tomei doing in Carol Stream?
|
(taken from a Press Release 4/21/06)
Filming scenes for the movie "Grace is
Gone," at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites - Carol
Stream, that's what.
Chicago native Cusack, stars in Grace is
Gone, a
movie about a dad who takes his two daughters on
what he hopes will be a healing journey, after his wife
is killed in the line of duty in Iraq. Directed and
written by James C. Strouse, the movie is scheduled
for release in 2007.
Cusack and Tomei were shooting scenes in the Carol
Stream Holiday Inn's Alberto's Restaurant/ Fitzgerald’s
Tavern, indoor swimming pool, guest rooms, as well
as exterior shots of the hotel. The 195-room hotel is
a natural for the movie.
"Carol Stream may be an unlikely spot for Hollywood
star gazing," observed Don Oppermann of the Holiday
Inn
Hotel and Suites - Carol Stream. "But obviously,
Hollywood has discovered a family-friendly location to
shoot this move. We're excited to be a part of all the
action. Our hotel guests seem to feel the same way."
