Book Review Battling Democracy's Decline
| B OOK REVIEW -- By Willie Hunter -- Title: "Battling Democracy's Decline" by
Michael Mills ,,,
It looks like passionate citizen of Georgia - Michael Mills is ready
to give you the word on how things can really change for the positive
in his new published book titled "Battling Democracy's Decline"
,, , The new book (published by Booksurge) sets out a clear view of how
we lost much of our 'activism' and the 273 page book tells us how can
reclaim this important part of our Democratic tradition ,,, To inspire
you to greater service - author Mills starts out with a quote from one
of America's greatest Presidents - Franklin D. Roosevelt ,,,
Mr. Mills tells it like it really is and he lays out three points
that are sure to help you get involved in the change that is possible
in America. This three point program is designed to get you off of
your 'apathy' and out in the community and in the world making a
difference. The articulate writer and political candidate says that we
can't just sit back and wait for leaders to bring 'government to our
door step' - but we must go to them and let them know the issues that
are important to us. Public officials respond to those who are
passionate about the issues.
Michael Mills also tells us to 'get to know' our elected officials
and 'get others involved' who share many of our basic beliefs. The
good news the author tells us is that political involvement - such as
voting by younger citizens has improved during the last several
years. During the time when voting and participation in the process
declined - author Mills blames the older generation's lack of interest
in passing on the tradition of 'activism' in the Democratic
process. The author goes on to conclude by saying that we must take
action if Democracy is to survive. He says that each of us must take
part in it.

The Buzz By Willie Hunter
| The Buzz - Motion Picture Review -- Kick-Ass ,,, This new motion picture really lives up
its name -- " Kick - Ass"
,,, The film stars Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Mark
Strong, Nicolas Cage, Chloe' Grace Moretz and others ,,, There is
enough fast and furious 'kick-ass' action in this film to get you
through the rest of the sping and summer seasons ,,, The film is based
on the comic book by Mark Milar and John Romika ,,, The film is
directed by Matthew Vaughn ,,, Actor Brad Pitt is one of the movie's
producers ,,,
It seems that super nerdy and geeky high school-er - Dave (Aaron
Johnson) - has dreams of helping people who are in trouble by becoming
the super hero - Kick - Ass ,,, This once unnoticed teen becomes a
sensation as the bold and brave - Kick - Ass ,,, But however - when he
gets in over his head - well - there is an even more awesome hero duo -
Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) and his well trained 11 year old daughter Hit
Girl (Chloe' Grace Moretz) ,,, It also seems that Big Daddy and Hit
Girl have an even bigger agenda (they are not just here to help Kick -
Ass with those pesky street crimes) in wiping out a big time crime boss
(played by Mark Strong) and his organization ,,,
Well - there is plenty of action and ass kicking going on as
audiences cheer on the fighting prowess of Hit Girl ,,, Big Daddy and
daughter succeed in wiping out this big time crime organization - but
BD's life is sacrificed in the process ,,, This reporter saw the film
and audience members applauded loudly in response to various action
packed scenes and they did the same when the movie ended ,,, Read More | | |
