| Greetings!
Believe it or not - there are new 'fields to plow' for all in regards to the new opportunities available during the rest of the year. Even though the daily news gives us an often times bleak picture of how things really are - when one door closes - another opens up for us. We should successfully transition from the past and create and new present and bright future for ourselves.
Love Internet Radio is looking at many new ways to re-invent itself. One of the ways we are doing this is through making the most of the social and professional networking web sites that are out there. We are a part of nearly all of them and we constantly on these sites as a way to reach out to our world wide listening audience.

| The Performing Rights Act Town Hall Meeting |
Scores of people gathered in Decatur, Georgia - at the new Porter Sanford Performing Arts Center - a few days ago - to hear information and to ask questions about a bill that's before the U.S. House of Representatives. It seems that House Bill 848 is causing passions to rise on both sides of the issue. The issue being United States radio stations paying the artists who sing the songs you hear - on their stations - a royalty for their services. Songwriters and music publishers already receive payment. This bill will now make it possible for the singers and musicians who play on the songs to receive payment.
The event was hosted by The Atlanta Recording Academy, Music First and 4th District Congressman Hank Johnson who was accompanied by U. S. House Judiciary Committee chairman Congressman John Conyers of Michigan. They were joined by Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. The panel holding forth also included such names as singer / recording artist Dionne Farris, producer Rhymefest (Kanye West), powerful attorney Kendall Minter, the high priest of P - Funk - George Clinton, CAU's James Patterson and others.
There was a lively and passionate discussion on how certain radio owners have misinformed the public concerning House Bill 848. Opposition to the measure says that it will literally 'destroy' Black Radio. The Town Hall meeting clearly stated that this is not the case. Questions and comments from those in attendance were profound and some remarks were quite moving. Some of the other names in attendance to support the Performing Rights Act bill were such ones as Dr. Fred Taylor of Georgia State University, Southern Soul performer Willie Hill (I'm A Man On A Mission) , MIC's - JaWar, artist developer Chris Flourney, recording artist Robin S (You Got To Show Me Love), record label executive Gary Ivey, Love Internet Radio CEO - Tom Davis, and more. Much homage was paid to living legend - George Clinton. Read More.........

| Farwell To Michael, Farrah & Ed |
Love Internet Radio and family send our heart felt sympathy to the familes of King of Pop Michael Jackson, actress Farah Fawcett and former "Tonight Show" co-host Ed McMahan. Michael Jackson truly changed the world of popular with his incredible performing and songwriting energy. He along with Quincy Jones made History with the coming of the "Thriller' album.
These are excellent examples of 'you get out of life and the entertainment business what you put into it'. If you don't put anything in -you don' t get anything out. These people had successful careers. Remember - it's not all about the money. |
