BVD VOLUNTEER CORNER
Thank you to our BVD Members who we see volunteering at shows locally and in neighboring communities!
Volunteer Spotlight:
Debi Voigt
Our featured volunteer this month is Debi Voigt from Boulder. Debi has been around BVD for a long while. Maybe you've received one of her emails asking, perhaps begging, for help at the Somerset Dressage shows?
Organizing people for 4 large dressage shows takes time and has its' frustrations. She has been a tireless volunteer coordinator for those. Not an easy job! Volunteers make the show happen but volunteer coordinators make the show run!
In addition to the dressage shows she also volunteers for the Silo Farm sponsored Rocky Mountain Horse Trials Three Day Event as stadium steward. She takes the time to organize and make sure things will be able to run smoothly. She doesn't just organize volunteers, she also has a big hand in getting all the details ready for these successful shows. We appreciate all that Debi has done for our local dressage community.
Debi has two horses at Somerset, Leilani and Rohmero, aka Romeo, a 10 year old Hanoverian who just came in 3rd at the National Developing Horse Championships in the Grand Prix Championship Class.
 |
Debi and Romeo (along with supporters) in Chicago at the 2012 USEF Developing Horse Championships
|
By taking Romeo to these big National shows Debi knows first hand what goes into making shows a successful and pleasant experience for the riders and horses. She takes these experiences into her performance as a super volunteer coordinator. Debi enjoys spending lots of time with her horses. She rides Romeo daily. He is an amazing horse to watch. So the next time you see Debi thank her for all she does! We are lucky to have her as a part of our local community!
On behalf of BVD and RMDS,
Thank you Debi!
