Greetings!
 | | Angie Williams, WeMN Marketing Director |
Happy New Year! We hope that 2012 is a successful year for you and your business. At WeMN, we are excited about the many events and programs we have planned to help you achieve your business goals and network with like-minded women. Thanks to all who joined us for our Quarterly Event in December, presented by Dia Satori. It was a well-attended, engaging event. As one member commented, "...fantastic interactive, experiential event that increased my tool set for networking and growing my business. Dia did a great job and the location was fantastic." We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events, which are listed in this newsletter. If you have any questions about the events or WeMN membership, please feel free to contact us at info@wemn.org. Our best to you in 2012! Sincerely, Angie Williams WeMN Marketing Director |

What are your favorite free tools that help you run your business?
We asked WeMN board members about their favorite free tools that help them run their businesses. Check out these great resources:
Angie Williams, WeMN Marketing Director
Google Docs - This is an excellent tool for managing projects with clients. You and your client can view and edit a shared document at any time without sending documents back and forth. And by stroring them in the "cloud," you are able to access your documents from any computer or internet-connected device.
Karen Emanuelson, WeMN Membership Director
Google Alerts - Google alerts is like having a personal assistant continually searching the Internet for mentions of my company name. I set my Google alerts to send me a daily email alerting me of mentions of "Reciprocate LLC" anywhere online.
Beth Backen, WeMN Technology Director
Bankrate.com - If you're thinking of taking a business loan, this tool can help clarify how much impact the loan will have. I've used it for goal setting as well. For example, I look at how much sooner will I finish my car loan if I pay $20 extra each month?
Oanda - For people who do business overseas, Oanda has a really good set of currency conversion tools. Great for filling out expense reports from a business trip, or for calculating the cost of a purchase made in another currency.
Amalia Moreno-Damgaard, WeMN President
MailChimp - User friendly, has stats to track success, interfaces with social media and others, and it's free (fees may apply in some instances).
Flickr - Great display, easy to use, a way to showcase your business regularly, another way people can link to your business.
Yelp - Free, yellow pages-like and beyond, ratings, great resource, another way people can find your business.
Manta - Free listing (some fees apply for some services), great quick business tips daily, another way people can find your business.
