Meet the Graduates 

Head Start Grads Ready for Kindergarten

Well prepared and excited to learn more. That's the way more than 550 children throughout Santa Barbara county felt as they graduated from Head Start this spring. 

Children who spent a year in one of our local Head Start programs displayed, "significant growth" in vocabulary skills and made, "dramatic gains" in number knowledge according to UCSB researchers.

Summer Food and Fun

School-Age Children Enjoy Healthy Luncheslunch

 

Ever wonder what low-income children do in the summer time when free and reduced price lunches are not avaliable at school cafeterias? Nearly 1000 low-income children enjoy fresh and healthy daily lunches provided by CAC. We deliver nutritious meals to 18 sites throughout the county.

Youth Making a Difference

Youth Corps Members Inspire Junior High Students

Students at Arrellanes Junior High in Santa Maria received certificates after completing a Youth Making Change mentoring program. The program, which was made possible by a grant from the Fund for Santa Barbara, allowed Youth Corps members to share their experiences and the lessons they've learned.
