The Sugar Land Heritage Foundation has a new executive director as of February 27, 2012. He is William (Bill) Benson. He and his wife, Judi, have relocated to Rosenberg, Texas from Duncan, Oklahoma. He had been the executive director of the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center. More to come.
COMING EVENTS: Heritage Hike - Saturday, June 9, 10 A.M. Please make your reservations now to meet in front of the Imperial Sugar Plant to participate in this popular event. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic docents will share fascinating details of Sugar Land's heritage as you stroll through majestic Oak shaded neighborhoods and visit a beautifully restored auditorum built in the early 1930's. The Heritage Hike is scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10 A.M. Please call 281-494-0261 for additional information.

MUSEUM: A temporary museum is open Saturday's 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. in association with the Farmer's Market. It is situated on the first floor of the two storied red brick structure at 198 Kempner. We are located at the east end of the parking lot. Please come in and enjoy airconditioning while viewing historic images and view videos of early Sugar Land. Since April, guests from cities in Texas including; Sugar Land, Missouri City, Houston, Richmond, Cypress, Katy, Rosenberg, Burnet, Pearland, Denton and Dallas have joined others from as far away as Perryville, Maryland, Chelsea, Michigan, London, England and Lagos, Nigeria. Our guest book reflects appreciation of what they saw, "We need to preserve our history, excellent. Fantastic Experience, Wonderful Memories! Thanks, Good to learn about Sugar Land's roots, Wonderful, Great Historical Value, Really Cool."
