Security Surveys
Our Experience: Atlas Security Services Inc. has conducted security surveys in environments ranging from large corporate headquarters, to manufacturing plants and hospitals. These building types have ranged from high rise facilities to small single story warehousing structures and large shipping terminals.
Types of Security Surveys: We have conducted all levels of security surveys from limited "walk through" surveys in residential environments, to detailed reviews at corporate headquarters. The needs have varied from protecting employees and expensive assets, to retail goods protection. However, no matter what the need, cost effectiveness and return on investment is our main focus.
What is a Security Survey?: Every security survey we conduct is significantly different as to the risks being considered, the level of protection desired and budgetary restraints that will apply. The purpose of all of the security surveys we conduct, is to identify the risk present at the facility and make recommendations for the reasonable reduction of this exposure. Before we begin a security survey, we are mindful of any restrictions the client might have. We realize that if a client can only budget $10,000 in security fixes, we would be providing no value by recommending a $100,000 solution.
Return on Investment:
Security surveys generally provide an excellent return on investment. While security surveys do not result in the obvious satisfaction and effect that accompany a criminal apprehension, often measurable results are visible almost immediately. Remember, in the long run it is much more cost effective to prevent, or minimize, the opportunity for theft in the first place. It is our belief that most, if not all clients and potential clients, can benefit from a Physical Security Survey.
Minimizing Exposure to Litigation: The primary purpose of a security survey is to minimize exposure of all types. While the safety of employees/visitors and the protection of assets is the paramount priority of these surveys, one of the greatest benefits achieved by clients is limiting exposure to premises liability litigation. Even the damags suffered at the hands of a major theft ring, or caused by an accident, can pale in comparison with the cost of defending litigation.
Services that are Available: Security surveys are available in any depth desired. In the case of a small facility, an applicable service would usually be a very basic, and inexpensive "walk through" survey and a study of crime trends. In mid-sized to large facilities, a typical survey would involve a perimeter survey, access control review, security systems review and contingency planning.
