The Club's Poolside Fish Fry was a huge success!
It was great to visit with so many of the Club's Members and Corporate Sponsors. News from The Billfish Foundation
TBF's Tag and Release Program is the cornerstone of their advocacy and conservation work both in the United States and Internationally. With currently more than 198,000 tag and release records, the data is used to study the biology and migration patterns of billfish as well as demonstrate the socioeconomic importance of the billfish effort. The tag and release information, provided by captains and anglers, is vital for TBF to develop strong arguments and be a definitive voice for recreational fishing in both domestic and international fisheries management meetings. As the fishing season begins to roll into full swing, we urge you to report released billfish. Tag and release information can be submitted using release cards or by entering your releases directly into TBF's online data base at www.billfishtag.org.Congratulations to TBF's President, Ellen Peel, who was recently appointed by President Obama as a U.S. Commissioner for ICCAT and will represent our interests as recreational anglers during international negotiations.
