2011 Awards Banquet invitations have been mailed! Reserve your seats now for the 2011 Awards Banquet which will be held at the Omni Hotel, Galleria, Houston on Saturday, April 9th at 6:00pm. Open seating is limited! Reserve a table for preferred seating with your friends. Secure your hotel room before March 18th for the HBGFC discounted rate. Reservations can be made at 713-871-8181 or Omni Hotel Reservations.
 2011 Lone Star Shootout VIP invitations were mailed on March 1st to last year's entrants. Additional invitations will mail on March 15th. If you would like an invitation or want to make sure you are on the list, please call the Club at 281-291-8889. Tournament dates are June 21-26, 2011. Congratulations to Randy Stiba! In 2009, Randy caught the Club record Wahoo weighing in at 101 pounds! See all of the Club's records at Record Catches.
Leaderboard As of 3/1/11, in addition to the leading Wahoo, John "Buddy" Kantowski is also leading the Dolphin Category with an early season catch of 26.1 pounds. For all Club Members making the long trip to the Spar rigs, Derek Petersen is leading the Yellowfin Division with an 80 pound catch. Current Club Award results can be found at Awards Program.

 Meet Katie St. Clair, one of our 2010-2011 Scholarship Recipients!
A few words from Katie... The HBGFC Scholarship has enabled me to fund my education for this school year. With tuition fees taken care of, I have focused my efforts on research for my Master's thesis. I thank the Houston Big Game Fishing Club for this opportunity and its support of fisheries research on the Texas Gulf Coast. It is imperative that this research is continued in order to gain the understanding needed to sustain fisheries populations for future generations.
