Steve Thomas, Director of the Cajun Canyons Billfish Classic and long time Member and HBGFC Corporate Sponsor, has been appointed as a Member of the NMFS Highly Migratory Species Advisory Panel.  Congratulations Steve! Wade Richardson, Captain of The Hooker, has been named the Billfish Foundation's 2010 Top Black Marlin Release Captain for the second year in a row.  Wade also finished second in released Blue Marlin and his mates Jilberto Cansari and Jonathan Lamastus, both new Club Members, finished as Top Mates for the Pacific.  Congratulations guys!

  

David Dion, Owner, Captain and Angler of Lady Diana caught a 341 pound sword fish on conventional rod and reel on January 27th approximately 15 miles south of the Flower Gardens.  Pending review, this giant fish will beat the state's current record by just 1 pound!  Congratulations David!

  

Wahoo season is in full swing!  As of 1/31/11, John "Buddy" Kantowski is in the lead with a 73.1 pound wahoo.  Jack Beal is a close second catching a 72 pound wahoo.

For the past seven years, Del Papa Distributors has supported the Club by donating valuable merchandise to the Club's Annual Awards Banquet as well as donate beverages to our Annual Billfish Tournament, The Lone Star Shootout.
