As a young boy, Pastor Derek Whitehouse wanted to be a teacher, but he was always surrounded by music. At age 6 he began playing the piano and eventually toured locally in his hometown of Woodstock, New Brunswick, with his family's southern gospel band as the drummer. After graduating from his university, Pastor Derek taught French in a public school, where eventually an opening for a band teacher became available.Today, as our Pastor of Worship, he teaches us God-centered worship. When he's not cheering on his beloved Red Sox or downing a burger at Five Guys, he is with his delightful family, Heather (to which he has been married 17 years) and their 4 children, Connor, Annie, Grace and Carson.
