OUR LAUNCH PARTY IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER
...have you RSVP 'd yet?

We would love to party with you at the biggest celebration in town!

Saturday, March 12th, 7 pm

Come meet us and see the space you've heard so much about. Sample delicious hors d'oeuvres and desserts from local artisan caterers. Raise a toast with one of Sarah's famous cocktails! And dance the evening away with Red Baraat, the bhangra brass band that Bob Boilen of All Songs Considered calls "a New Orleans street band playing Indian Bollywood tunes with a go-go beat... a crazy blast of fun."  Oh--and don't send those sitters home too early; we plan to keep the party going into the night.

To avoid a wait at the door, PLEASE REGISTER here. Space is limited!

Draw Your Future Is Starting!

Our flagship program for teens begins its first season on April 25th.

Draw Your Future participants (grades 7-12) can drop in to the Purple Crayon each weekday from 3-6 pm to create art, listen to music, engage in dialogue with their peers, and spend time exploring what it means to be themselves outside of the constraints of school, sports, extracurriculars and cliques. Once a week, the middle school and high school groups will each get together for peer-led discussions and activities, and once a month each participant will meet with a Purple Crayon advisor to process where they are and where they want to go.

This shorter pilot session of Draw Your Future will run from April 25 until June 17 and is a great chance for teens to experience what the Purple Crayon has to offer them at a lower price: just $100! To register, contact us at info@purplecrayoncenter.org

Partnership Programs Starting Soon. . .
Come learn, reflect and be inspired in one of the fantastic classes on our Spring roster... Space fills up quickly, so let us know soon if you are interested!

Creativity Spa ~ Tuesdays 9-11 am, beginning March 22nd.
Actress, drama teacher and life coach Jamie Winnick works with participants to overcome obstacles in their lives through a creative curriculum of dance, drama, poetry, visual art and music. This playful and intuitive approach allows participants to gain access to solutions to their everyday challenges that they might never have come to otherwise. Email Jamie to sign up.

Warrior Rising ~ Tuesday 7:15-8:45 pm & Friday 9:15-10:45 am, beginning mid-March.
This innovative fitness program for women had its inaugural run at The Purple Crayon Center earlier this winter, and it was a huge hit! Created by Sarah Rubin, a certified Kripalu yoga instructor, and Anne Marie Costanzo, a nationally certified personal trainer, Warrior Rising combines yoga and strength training in a connected, small-group environment that motivates participants to exceed their expectations of their own strength - both inside and out. The first time we offered this course, it was filled to capacity within just a few days, so email  Sarah soon if you want to register!

Voice Power ~ Sunday mornings in April. Start date and time TBD.
7-9 year olds are at a developmental transition between speaking easily in their natural voice and self-consciously changing their voices to sound like others and fit in. Licensed speech pathologist, renowned singer, and voice coach, Gaida Hinnawi, works with children in a playful atmosphere to do the serious work of connecting to and celebrating their true voices. Identity is explored, self-esteem is raised, and potential long-term physical and psychological problems are prevented. Email us with interest.

The Me Map ~ 4 weekly sessions, October, 2011.
Leadership coach  Greta Cowan brings her many years of expertise from working with executives of major companies to a new audience: high school seniors. This four week course will offer these teens heading for transition a chance to reflect on their experiences, identify the key moments that have shaped their lives, and find key stories that communicate to the world their unique qualities and perspectives--just in time for college essays and interviews! More to come...
HotDesks Memberships Available!

We put a copier, fax machine, and wireless network right at your fingertips so you never need to go on another last-minute Staples run. Most importantly, HotDesk members get access to a powerful local network, in which connections are forged, expertise is shared, conversations inspire, and ideas are encouraged and incubated.

Permanent desks and private offices are also available at the Inc. Email us to learn more or get your HotDesk membership today.
