Prayer Prompter for
CEF of Santa Barbara
For our 11 Good News Clubs - this is our last official week of Good News Clubs for the school year 2010-11. Please pray that God would bless us with 300 children enrolled (currently the number stands at 289) and that our End of the Year Party at the Santa Barbara YMCA Friday, May 6 will be a success and blessing to all the kids and their families!
For our summer 5 Day Club program - that we would have at least four 5 Day Clubs during the month of July and that we would successfully recruit all the needed leaders and club directors!
For Good News Clubs for next year, beginning September 2011 - that the Lord would give us 15 Good News Clubs including at least one Club at a Junior High School. That we would also successfully recruit the approximately 60 Leaders and 15 Club Directors to staff all the Clubs.
For Finances - currently CEF of Santa Barbara is operating at approximately $1500 a month less than needed to meet ALL of the expenses! Please pray that God would put this need on people's hearts to support this important work!
Praise for the 289 kids so far who have enrolled and participated in Good News Clubs this year - many who DO NOT ATTEND a Bible believing church regularly and for many, Good News Club is their "church or Sunday School" each week. Many of these kids have had serious problems this year - dealing with a parent's life threatening illness, parents who are either estranged from each other or filing for divorce, family conflict, intimidation by gangs, financial problems and more! Good News Club Leaders have stepped in the gap, reaching out to these children AND their families to help them face life with God's love and concern.
