Today Jay Addresses 2 Common Car Questions...

Why does my vehicle seem to have less get up and go then when I first purchased it?
and
Why did my fuel pump go bad and is there anything I could have done to prevent it?
The answer to both of these questions can be found in your.... FUEL FILTER The fuel filters on our older cars were usually smaller in size and located next to the carburetor so we replaced them regularly, fuel filters today are mounted down on the under side of the vehicle back towards the fuel tank. So when should I replace my fuel filter? On your passenger vehicle I recommend every 30,000 miles, now if you are in a dustier or dirtier area most of the time I would do it sooner depending on condition. If you drive a diesel I recommend 15000-20000 miles, again depending on the conditions you are in. There are many repairs that have been done that a proper fuel filter replacement would have saved you money on in the long run. So, if you don't know when it was done last let's inspect and/or replace that old one. -Jay Cassill
