| Christmas Memories at Cassill Motors |

I recall a Christmas when we were younger and Mom (Mrs. Cassill) gave Jay a new tire for his motorcycle. Before Thanksgiving she took that tire and wrapped it in brown paper. Then she invented a wreath of greenery around it and it was transformed into a beautiful Christmas decoration. Then she hung it on the side of the house where Jay would walk past it every day, unknowing.

Christmas morning Jay was given a note with instructions that led him all over the house looking for the next clue until finally.... he stood outside shaking his head. It took a moment before he realized that he had to take apart the wreath to get his gift! Gifts like that are as fun to give, as they are to get... in fact it was even fun as the little sister, to watch him get that gift!

Mom has always been good at making Christmas extra special, and that is a tradition that we have all tried to continue. I recall another Christmas Eve where Mom and I spent an hour forming the perfect red bow and ribbon around a car that a man had bought for his wife. She found some special ribbon that looked fantastic! I was a teenager then, and I remember laughing with my Mom and really sharing a mother-daughter moment. We were in charge of delivery and parked the car safely in our friend's garage, where she would find it. I still smile at the memory of being a part of that great gift.

Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest, carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie!
