The average price of a single family home in the city of Calgary in May 2010 was $483,240 * An increase of 5% from April 2010, when the average price was $460,378 * An increase of 11% from May 2009, when the average price was $436,427.
Single family listings in the city of Calgary added for the month of May totaled 2,966, a decrease of 4 per cent from April 2010 when 3,082 new listings were added, but showing an increase of 33 per cent from May 2009, when 2,235 new listings came to the market. West Springs, Calgary
West Springs can be found west of Broadcast Hill, along Old Banff
Coach Road. Its boundaries are Old Banff Coach Road to the north, the
neighbourhood of Springbank to the west, Bow Trail to the south and 69
St. W to the east.
Springbank used to be part of the East Springbank
area of Municipal District of Rocky View until it was annexed by the
city in 1995, but it wasn't until 2001 that the neighbourhood was
actually established.

West Springs has many recreation opportunities.
- There are several
parks in the area, including Sierra Morena Park, which contains
basketball and volleyball courts.
- The park is slated for further
development to include more sports facilities, a school and community
centre.
- Allred's Driving Range is just behind it.
- Paskapoo Slopes is
a historically significant area that has yielded up artifacts and
remains.
- The Olympic Hall of Fame is also in this area, with a
mountain bike park, bobsled and luge track and ski jump provide summer
and winter recreation.
Shopping and dining is provided by the nearby Strathcona Town
Square. Westgate Mall is east, along Bow Trail. West Hills, with a
10-screen multiplex cinema is south on Sarcee Trail and Richmond Road.
There are a number of slated commercial developments in and near West
Springs, including a Co-op, and several live/work developments.
The real estate of West Springs consists mainly of upscale single
family detached homes on lots ranging up to 4 acres or more. There are
a few townhome and low-rise condominium complexes as well. West
Springs contains several small developments, including West Springs
Farms in the north part of the community, Springside to the west and

complaint about all the weird street numbersand what idiot arranged Calgary into
quadrants that are numbered individually so that they can't find anything?
As you commiserate with your friends about
the insane numbering system, you may wonder why Calgary is laid out like
this.
