Israel
Familiarization Trip
| Garden of Gethsemane | | |
February 22- March 4, 2011 With Optional Ministries
Extension March 4-8
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Jesus the Messiah,
There are very few experiences that have changed our
lives more than traveling to Israel. And very little in our discipling of others
has had a greater impact than bringing them to Israel.
We therefore want to share with you an exciting
opportunity for you to experience Israel and also learn how to lead future
Israel groups.
You are invited to join us for special leaders' Israel
trip sponsored by Shoresh Tours, a ministry based at Christ Church (Anglican) in
Jerusalem. Shoresh Tours is part of the historic work of CMJ (see www.CMJ-Israel.org).
Let us share some key reasons why this is the best
possible trip to familiarize you with Israel:
*The
Leadership The trip is created as a ministry to clergy and lay
leaders, and will be led by committed believers in the Messiah, Yoel and Laura
Seton. Yoel directs Shoresh Tours and both have a great heart for God's Kingdom.
Shoresh is not a tour business; it is part of an extensive ministry throughout
Israel and beyond.
* The
Focus We focus on the Jewish roots of the Christian faith,
helping people to understand the Kingdom of God and the culture of Jesus' time
on earth. Along with the Setons, we have an experienced licensed guide who is
Messianic believer trained in the Scriptures and the history of
Israel.
*The
Training We will spend time teaching you how to recruit and
prepare groups for Israel travel. We have participated in over thirty Israel
trips, leading most of them. We have just returned from leading a group of 63
people.
* The
Cost The price is set very low. This is to make the program
accessible to as many potential future tour leaders as possible. To keep costs
low, we will be staying at CMJ ministry centers throughout Israel, thus learning
firsthand what the Lord is doing there now. At $2100 from Newark, this
familiarization trip, including airfare, costs less than many programs charge
for only the land portion. (You may also make your own air arrangements and pay
for the land portion separately, but our direct flight from Newark to Tel Aviv
is very convenient.)
*Your Fellow
Travelers Because this trip is only for Christian leaders and their
spouses, all will be united in their desire to grow in their own faith and to
better disciple others. You may join us if you have been to Israel before but
need training in trip leadership. We will have limited space, so we encourage
people to sign up as soon as possible.
*The
Goals Our primary goal is to help you understand Jesus better-
his teaching, ministry lifestyle, death, resurrection, ascension and kingdom. We
also want you to be enabled to bring many followers of Jesus to Israel so that
their faith may be strengthened. We have seen our own parish grow much deeper in
the faith as many of its teachers and leaders went to Israel and brought home
what they learned. Finally, we want you to see how the Lord is drawing many
Jewish and Arab people to himself so that you can pray for and encourage the
expansion of the Kingdom of God in the land where Jesus walked. The Optional
Extension after the basic tour is unique opportunity to see even more ministries
in Israel.
Please let us know if we can be of any help as you consider joining
us.
And please pass this letter on to any leader who could
bring others to experience the Lord in Israel.
As is said at the end of every Jewish Passover meal, our
hope is that you can join us "Next Year in Jerusalem!"
In the Messiah,
+Neil and Marcia Lebhar The Rt. Rev. Neil G. Lebhar and Marcia P.

Mobilize Your Church For An Unreached People Group
The Question: In Revelation 5:9, we read that Jesus "ransomed men for God from every tribe and tongue and people and nation..."
Currently, there are people (ethnic) groups who will not be
represented in heaven. Your church can work together with other
believers to bring Christ and the Church to a specific people group.
Which one?
1) Get informed: Contact Anglican Frontier Missions for guidance in becoming a partner church (804-355-8468)
2) Pray for the church leadership and obtain their support
3) Pray and talk with several members of your church about having a partnership with an unreached people group
4) With AFM's assistance, select the specific unreached people group
5) Contact Anglican Frontier Missions (AFM) for guidance on the details
which includes prayer, communication with other believers who are
focusing on this people group, missionaries, and assisting in locating
resources.
6) Form a partnership committee to guide the church on the next steps
7) Educate and involve the church (AFM has prepared materials)
8) Notify AFM and formally begin the partnership
9) Regularly involve the entire church in the prayer, communication, and assistance with the people group partnership
10) Celebrate the positive steps that take place among your people group and the outreach to them
11) Patiently pray and serve your people group within your partnership
and in collaboration with other believers. Trust the Lord to work, in
his time, among the people
12) Praise God in all circumstances

| Why should I sign?
Because it is Important for the Church. The central concerns of the Manhattan Declaration - Life, Marriage and
Liberty - have been treasured and defended by biblically guided churches
throughout history and across traditions. The Manhattan Declaration

Saint Peter's Anglican Church
St. Peter's, Tallahassee, was planted on October 9, 2005, by Father Eric
Dudley and 700 parishioners from St. John's Episcopal Church. Since that
time, more than 500 additional members have come to us, many from backgrounds
outside the Episcopal/Anglican tradition. Shortly before our departure
from St. John's, ten St. Peter's families together purchased a property
that included a church building with undercroft space and two houses which are
used for office space, youth gatherings and a bookstore. We have been
worshiping in this church since our very first Sunday! Three years ago, we paid cash
for 8.5 acres on north Thomasville Road, in the area of Tallahassee with the
greatest growth. We have an option to buy additional adjacent land in the
future. An antebellum-style house on the site has been used for
gathering space, satellite ministries and classes.
Two years ago, an architect
was hired to develop plans for a new church. The parish was
clearly committed from the outset to build a structure that reflects our
identity as Anglicans in the classical tradition; therefore, an English Gothic
church (pictured) was designed. A successful Capital Campaign was begun in
2009, and we now hope to begin construction within two years.
St. Peter's has fourteen
people on its staff. Five priests cover Pastoral Care, Adult
Education, Youth & Families and College & Young Adult ministries. We emphasize four "pillars" of ministry: Worship, Fellowship, Education and
Service. In our quest to be a place "Where Christ is Changing Lives to
Change the World", we seek to involve every member of the parish in each of
these areas in some way. Three worship services are
held every Sunday. At 9:00 a.m., a traditional Rite II Eucharist draws
many families with children; at 11:15 a.m., a Rite II service includes incense
and tends to attract a slightly older group; at 5:00 p.m., the Eucharistic
liturgy is combined with praise music, and the congregation includes many
college and graduate students. As we kneel side-by-side, Sunday after
Sunday, being fed on the same Body and Blood of Christ, we become bound together
in this wonderful Koinonia fellowship that is a binding of soul to soul.
 Our fellowship grows
through an extensive small group ministry, Wednesday night suppers and many
special events throughout the year. Some examples are our Anniversary
Celebrations (worship and dinner-on-the-grounds at a nearby horse farm), a
summer Ice Cream Social and Advent Lessons and Carols with a dessert buffet
afterwards. Education is enormously important in our parish. Bible
studies are conducted in dozens of small groups, and classes for adults are
offered every day of the week. There are five classes and seminars from
which to choose on Wednesday evenings, along with offerings for youth, children
and college students. A carefully crafted education program for children
and youth has clear goals and objectives for each grade level. Our goal
is to raise up young people who know the Bible, have a relationship with Jesus
Christ, and take responsibility for their lives of faith in this world. Service has been at the heart of St. Peter's since our
inception. Six days after we first worshiped together, we continued the
program called "Hands On Tallahassee (H.O.T.) when parishioners scatter
throughout the city doing hands-on ministry projects. In our first year,
we sent at least one mission group per month to minister to a needy
community. In ongoing relationships with six local agencies, we care for
the poor, feed the hungry and speak for the unborn. We daily minister to
people who come to the church from the streets. Between five and seven
mission groups travel from our doors to Cuba, Uganda and Guatemala each
year. Weekly visits to area prisons deeply involve parishioners with a
passion for prison ministry. By providing Worship, Fellowship and
Education, we invite God to shape us into eager instruments for Service to the
world in His Name.

Some people are surprised
that such a traditional church is growing! Isn't all that
"pageantry" - the vestments and processions, the vergers and acolytes, the
Prayer Book liturgy and emphasis on the Eucharist - an obsolete construct of
the past? On the contrary, we've found that people, especially
young people, crave an ancient style of worship that communicates the vast
mystery of God. A brief semi-annual class called "The Nuts and Bolts of
Liturgy" has been video recorded and linked to our website. Young people
coming into our parish often tell us that it is because of that video teaching,
and the beautiful tradition it represents, that they have come to our
church. Far from being cold or stodgy, the splendid Anglican tradition,
our timeless treasure, awakens a hunger for the things of God, and opens hearts
and minds to be shaped by the holy will of Christ.

Dynamos!
Many of our high school students in the Gulf Atlantic
Diocese share the love of Christ with their classmates in a high-energy,
Spirit-led weekend called Dynamos. Following a format similar to the Fourth Day
program, teams of students from across the region organize themselves to create
an open, loving, and servant-oriented weekend for candidates who are on their
walk to know God. Dynamos occurs twice a year in early December and either March
or April and is held at Camp Suwannee in Dowling
Park near Live Oak, Florida. Each weekend is planned and
coordinated by the students themselves with the assistance of a small number of
adults who are present to advise and ensure the safety of everyone. Two priests
from the Diocese are also present to provide spiritual counsel.
The most recent Dynamos weekend in March (#7) brought
encouragement and fellowship to 22 candidates; one enthusiastic candidate was
baptized by campfire light with water from the nearby Suwannee River.
Upcoming Dynamos #8 will occur the weekend of December 3-5. By God's grace, it
will prove to be another wonderful weekend of fun and fellowship. The team, led
by St. Peter's (Tallahassee)
senior, Austin Lee Ard, is currently being formed from students who have previously
participated in the weekend. Applications for high school students who are
interested in attending for the first time are available at www.gulfatlanticdiocese.org/dynamos.
This weekend is not limited to students who are members of churches within the
Diocese. Students are encouraged to
invite their friends in Grades 9-12 who desire
to know more about living out the word of Christ. Scholarships are readily
available for candidate fees.

St.
Raphael's by the Sea Anglican Church Announces
Grant Approved to
Help New Church on Fort Myers Beach
Fort Myers Beach, Florida- September 27, 2010 - St.
Raphael's by the Sea Anglican Church on Fort Myers Beach has been approved for a
generous grant from Christ Church Anglican of Phoenix, Arizona. This grant is
usually given only to other parishes within Christ Church's local diocese, but
after reading about St. Raphael's by the Sea's story on their reasons for
leaving the Episcopal Church an exception was made.
Frank Woods, Grant Committee Chair of Christ Church, stated, "We can well
relate to your (St. Raphael's by the Sea) issues and problems because we have
been down the same path. We admire and have high regard for your ministry and
are impressed with your drive, determination, courage, and your faith in God. We
are all pulling for you to succeed. We would like to help you with
that."
The Rev. Alice Marcrum, Rector of St. Raphael's by the Sea Anglican,
informed the parishioners of this generous gift at this past Saturday evening's worship service at the Beach Methodist Church, where the newly formed
parish is currently holding services. This grant will allow St. Raphael's by the
Sea to have the confidence to rent the recently closed Beach Theatre on Fort
Myers Beach where they can begin holding Sunday morning worship services.
Sunday morning worship services will begin at the Beach Theatre on October
24th at 10:00 AM. On the Calendar of Saints Feast Days, October 24th is also the Archangel
St. Raphael's Feast Day, which is a fitting day for the parishioners of St.
Raphael's by the Sea Anglican Church to celebrate having their own place of
worship. St. Raphael's by the Sea Rosary services will continue to be held at
the San Damiano Monastery of Saint Clare on Fort Myers Beach on Thursdays at
1:30 PM. All are welcome to join with the parishioners of St. Raphaels by the
Sea in their spiritual journey to know Christ and to make Christ known. For further information, please contact the Reverend Alice Marcrum at
239-464-9823.
