MEET YER EATS FARM TOUR 2012
It seemed like yesterday we started planning for this year's Meet Yer Eats Farm Tour, and what to do you know!...It's right around the corner!
The Tour officially kicks off on September 3 (LABOR DAY) at 10am, but for those who want to get an earlier start, we have a surprise! We are so excited t  o welcome the City Schoolyard Garden to be our in-town hub for the Meet Yer Eats Farm Tour: From 8:30am - 12:00pm head over to Buford Middle School for garden tours, a scavenger hunt, and a special primer for kids on crop identification and garden etiquette. It's a great spot to car pool, and if you purchase a car pass online, pick it up at the hub before you hit the road on tour day! Note: We had two more farms join the farm tour line-up after the brochure went to press - so be sure to check the website for the latest on all the participating farms! Ever wonder how the farm tour goes off without a hitch year after year? It's because of YOU - Volunteers!
What's involved? Volunteers are an integral part of the tour and become invaluable helpers to the farmers who open their gates to visitors on tour day. The job is really easy and rewarding: help greet and count visitors, especially during the first couple hours of tour day. You can choose your favorite farm and get to know the people behind the food! We make the shifts short, so you have time to visit other farms nearby. Sign up to staff the greeting tent at the farm of your choice, and get a FREE car pass, plus cool gifts from our sponsors! =================================================
