Vendor Spotlight: Lynette Meynig, Family Ties and PiesLynette Meynig has worn many different hats throughout her life, but has loved baking since she was a little girl. The idea of transforming her then creative outlet into a successful business, however, came much later in life - after a husband and two kids. Her first passion was dance. A New Yorker by birth, Lynette graduated from Butler with a dance degree and performed at the prestigious Metropolitan Opera in New York City. Dance is also how she met her husband Scott - in a Ballet Company in Kassel, Germany. Sounds like a fairytale? Hold on, it gets better.

Market Central was selected as one of 30 organizations across the country to bring the Discover You Can program to their market this summer. The program, sponsored by Jarden Home Brands (the Ball canning jar company) and the Farmers Market Coalition, is designed to demonstrate methods of home food preservation, and teach customers how to enjoy more local produce -- year round!

Thanks to everyone who contributed to our campaign to rebuild the greenhouse at Planet Earth Diversified after that awful storm on June 29. If you missed the story, you can read more about it here. With your support, we raised over $2,000 for a recovery fund for Michael and Leslie. And thanks to a volunteer work crew organized by another vendor, much of the storm debris has been removed. An amazing job ~ thanks!
