What is FabCab?

FabCab is kit-built environmentally-friendly and universally-designed dwelling. Our team of architects, designers and specialists are dedicated to designing efficient and flexible spaces that enable people to thrive.

Who are FabCabs designed for?
There are many uses for a FabCab including a guest house, home office, writer's or artist's studio, caregiver's residence, in-law apartment, rental unit or a cabin on a vacation property.

Please visit our website to learn more about FabCab. We will be adding more interior and exterior features and floor plans soon. We can also customize plans and add options such as porches, bedrooms, activity spaces and Sustainable elements depending on your needs.
Accessory Dwelling Units

What is an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) and how does it apply to FabCab?

An ADU is an extra living (or activity) unit on your property. There is a growing demand for such structures and many municipalities across the country have adopted zoning changes to allow and even encourage ADUs.

FabCab designs can also be used as ADUs and many floor plans fit the spatial and zoning requirements for ADUs and can be approved for permitting. Therefore, you can put a FabCab on your property and accommodate an aging parent, use it as an office space, or rent it out for extra revenue. The possibilities are endless! Even if you are not in Seattle, this is one of the leading publications pertaining to ADUs.

FabCab was recently featured on King 5, KOMO Radio, Q13 Fox News and in many design blogs.

FabCab's owner Emory Baldwin has also received various awards recently such as AARP/NAHB's Livable Communities Award and the 2009 AIA Small Projects Award. You can watch a video narrated by Emory explaining how he incorporated Universal Design and sustainable features into his family's residence.
