The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate. ~Oprah Winfrey
Another year is coming to a close and I can't believe how quickly it's gone by. This year has been filled with wins, losses, disappointments, joy and pain. We've witnessed an alarming number of travesties such as natural disasters, sex abuse scandals, parents murdering their children, and excessive acts of violence in our communities. The list can go on and on. The holidays are also a time of sadness for those who have lost loved ones, have fallen ill or dealing with issues that have broken their spirit. Yes, these things can steal your joy if you let them. But, the good news is that you have breath in your body and that's a reason to celebrate! God gave us the gift of life and the resources we need to create the life we desire. Life is meant to be celebrated because each day we wake up is another chance to live life abundantly.
Prepare to leave the things behind in 2011 that won't serve you in 2012. Take what you've learned into the New Year and continue to grow. Be joyous and free because that is what God intended for us. There will always be something lurking in the shadows to steal your joy, but continue praising God and giving thanks in the midst of it all.
I am wishing you and your family a healthy and happy holiday and thank you for supporting this publication. I look forward to bringing you new inspiring and encouraging information in the upcoming New Year.

"An Ending Is A Beginning"

And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed." Isaiah 40:5 Wow! We are at the end of another year. As we look back, we can see just how far we have come. Our journey has not always been easy, but we made it. We are triumphant! Lessons have been learned and will not be forgotten. We have stretched and grown. As we celebrate the birth
of our Saviour, let us always do so in the spirit
of love. This month will always be one of happiness and sorrow for me. It is the month that the first man I ever loved, my daddy, transitioned to his heavenly resting place. That was meant to kill me, but instead it made me better. What seemed to be an ending was actually a beginning of a divine shifting for me. My daddy journeys with me and my latter days will be greater!!!
It has been statistically proven that while the holiday season s a time of sharing, giving and overall happiness, it also provokes negative feelings for many people. Depression causes many to feel as though they have no reason to go on. As we see families and couples celebrating, shopping, and loving we often compare our situations to theirs. Ultimately, we focus on the "lack" in our lives instead of the multitude of things and people that we do have. It is essential during the Holiday Season that you fully realize, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Even if no one else resides in your house, you are not alone! The Creator is with you and He places in your life people who will love you just as you are. We must actively and intentionally surround ourselves with people and things that make us smile and laugh.
As a then "victim" and now a "survivor" of sexual abuse, clinical depression, etc., I know first hand the feelings of loss and emptiness that can accompany you this time of year. However, I choose not to surrender to them. For many years I have been told, "You are SPECIAL and you are LOVED! You are entitled to love and be loved." Today I share this with you because you too are special and loved. Go ahead, laugh, smile, dance, eat, shop, fellowship, having fun! "Tis the Season to be Jolly." It is not the end, it is the beginning!!! Shalom.

"For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour." Psalm 8:5
Heavenly Father,
May everything I do, every thought that I have and every gift that I give bring honor and glory to you this CHRISTMAS season. Thank you God for the many gifts you have bestowed upon us, your children. The gift of glory, the gift of honor, the gift of your indwelling spirit in us. Thank you God that you have given me the glorious gift of choice that I may enter into this Holy Season consciously choosing to stand in the gifts you have crowned me with that your work shall be done in me and through me.
Amen |
