The fact is, that to do anything in the world worth doing, we must not stand back shivering and thinking of the cold and danger, but jump in and scramble through as well as we can. ~Robert Cushing

Sharon R. Wells

This month marks the one year anniversary of the Inspirational Insights Newsletter.  My sincere thank you
to the readers who encourage me to continue to press on. This publication would not be a success without you, the authors, writers and poets who have collectively contributed to this publication.

This is also a very special time in my life, as I have just given birth to my first book project, which I have tirelessly worked on for the past four years.  I remember writing the first page with plans of completing an inspirational book.  Surprisingly, the project took a completely different turn.  Although the outcome is inspirational, it is not what I ventured out to do.  Quite honestly, God took over and steered it in another direction. A direction which has been rewarding and has allowed me to be the voice for abuse victims with silent voices.  If it were not for the strength and courage that God gave me, I would not have been able to complete this project fearlessly and candidly.  It would also not have been possible without the team of angels that guided me to the finish line.

This was a big step, opening up to the world about the trauma of my child sexual abuse.  It had a negative impact on my life but God helped me to begin healing by using the abuse as a stepping stone to save others.  I pray that my story will encourage and empower everyone whose lives has ever been touched by abuse. Although I  in no way compare myself to Jesus, He sacrificed His life so that we all could live.  His example of self-sacrifice is admirable and an example for us to live by.  A friend shared with me at the beginning of this journey that my story is no longer about me; it's about carrying the message to others.

I have been blessed with the gift to inspire others, even when I fall short of being able to uplift myself.
My hope is that this newsletter and book will continue reaching as many readers that are within my reach.  I look forward to another sucessful year and pray that you will continue to be uplifted.

Peace & Blessings!

Finding Your Destiny
Georgia Woodbine's Spirit 2 Spirit

One might ask, "How do I discover a greater meaning for my life?" Are you living the life you were born to live?  Whether you want to believe it or not? We were all created for a purpose and greater good.

Finding your destiny requires stripping yourself of every preconceived notion of what you think will truly make you happy. Our happiness can only be found in the things that give us great excitement and anticipation for the next day. It doesn't have to be a mystery, once we are willing to commit to making life changes and learn how to harmonize the rhythm of positive words, thoughts, feelings and actions.

Many times in life we get uncomfortable with the unknown.  We always want to see what's in front of us before we take any action steps.  Feeling uncomfortable is a good sign.  It means you have now become aware that there is something out there greater than anything you have ever experienced before and you're ready to tap into it.  It's the beginning of your journey to walk in a new dimension of self discovery.

To find your life's purpose is to feel passion, enthusiasm and happiness with the gifts and talents you were born with and be able to use them to add value to others.  Few people ever really tap into their purpose in life and spend years doing things that are not connected with the divine calling for their life.  Often times it may take a dramatic event that makes you start to question your existence.

Start to develop a mission statement for your life that will help guide you towards your destiny.   The key to finding your destiny is to let go of your past painful experiences, fears about your future and focus on dealing with your present circumstance.  To create the life you want and live in your highest potential takes ongoing faith, courage and perseverance. Renewing your mind daily and re-discovering your hidden talents can unlock the key to your creativity and passion. Once you surrender and allow your spiritual self to lead you, the universe has no choice but to help you by providing the resources, information and energy to assist you in reaching your purpose. You have the power inside of you right now to rewrite the script of your life.

Tips To Finding Your Destiny

  • Determine what's important to you: Examine what you value
  • Set your dream scheme - Create a vision board with pictures of all the things you want to accomplish
  • Silence Your Mind  - Take a moment daily to silence your mind racing and visualize where you see yourself
  • Organize Yourself - Keep a daily to-do listand plan your schedule the night before
  • Stay Focused - Find your purpose and discover what activities energize you
  • Follow Your Passion - Love what you do and know why you're are doing it.
  • Be Patient -Never worry about the timing of where you are in your life.  All things always work together for your good when you are aligned mentally, physically and spiritually (mind, body and soul)

Still Standing and Still Here

"Still Standing and Still Here"
Author, Kim Robinson

I am one of those authors that once I immerse myself into what I am writing that is where I will stay until typing, "The End."  What luck for you that I am all into my life story at the moment. It is far from a fairy tale but is something I am quick to share in an attempt to let others know that If, "I Am Still Here and I am Still Standing it should be a cake walk for some other troubled souls to keep it moving.

Born and raised in Compton CA, was no cakewalk, I we dealt with gang violence, drugs and riots. But of all the things that were creeping through the ghetto there lurked an even worse demon, abuse. Abuse in all its forms - mental, physical, spiritual spousal, sexual, elder and child.

And you know what I found out while I was so busy running away from the sources of my abuse  -  The preacher when I was five who scared me into keeping his secret for thirty years, my second boyfriend who thought it was okay to ask one of my best friends to the drive in, the man that I met and fell in love with two days after I turned twenty-one, a couple of years later he felt the need to break my jaw when I confronted him with pictures of him cheating on me with and his baby mama.  Let's not forget my oldest son's father who shot at me and missed, my aim was better when I shot back and killed him. I was two months pregnant and trying to save myself and my unborn child.

I could go on and on, but what I do know is that abuse does not stop at city lines, or borders or caste. It don't matter if you are rich or poor, religious or atheist, It will search you out as its prey if no one lets you know that you have to love yourself just as much as God does.

I didn't have a relationship with God until I was in my 30's and in rehab when someone told me that God had nothing to do with that preacher who
raped me.

All my life people told that one day I was going to do something to reach a lot of people. I was destined to soldier for God just as hard as I had for the other side. My answer was, "Get away from me before I shoot you."

Today I now know that everything I survived in my life was so that I could be a beacon for others. Who better to tell folks that as long as you wake up everyday, God is still using you, until he calls you home.

That's why we are "Still here and Still Standing."

The Roux In The Gumbo

This is more than an ingredient in a recipe. Spanning 1865 to 1997, the book is my great-grandmother and grandmother's life story, as told by her before she passed. It is accompanied by the memories of family members and friends. I have added just a dash of fiction to give it more flavor. Based in Louisiana, with all its flair and Southern culture, it describes the experiences throughout history, contributing to the shaping of the generations.

    Street Life To Housewife
Street Life to Housewife is the sequel and a revisit with the characters of The Roux in the Gumbo.  It stands on its own and takes you through the next generations and their trials. California history with all its riots, gangs and Hollywood allure take you on a trip down memory lane.

The main character, Kim turns to the street life in an attempt to run away from memories and secrets that threaten to reveal themselves. This book covers the first twenty three years of her life, and bring you closer to where she is today, speaking to abused women in churches, letting everyone know that she is "Still Here and Still Standing."

The Economy and Your Credit

The Economy and Your Credit

Seth Daniels, Managing, Trusted Advisor

It's no news that the present state of the economy has affected nearly everyone, especially where credit is concerned. While the banks and big business are being bailed out of their financial dilemma's  - who's bailing out the average Joe - no one.  You deserve a bail-out too!

You also need to be informed of four things (credit information, time, your rights and the law) and how these four things affect your credit report and score.  Did you know that inaccurate and/or negative information can remain on your credit report for 7 to 10 years from the last date of activity and will cost you thousands of dollars in higher interest rates?  Not to mention the shame and embarrassment you may face when getting turned down for financing to rent or buy a house or car due to items on your credit report.  In addition, many employers hire based on an individual's credit rating. Poor credit and low scores can inhibit or prevent your chances of being hired.  You could be the most skilled or knowledgeable person in your field, but poor credit will raise a red flag to perspective employers.

Yes, there are federal laws set up to protect the consumer "you" and yes, Credit Repair is legal.  Some of your rights and protections are in Federal laws like the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA) and the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA).  These Federal laws, afford you the legal right to dispute inaccurate and unverifiable items on your credit reports with the credit bureaus and your individual creditors.  But how many of you out there know and understand those laws?  One way to acquire relief is to use a credit repair service and that is one of your rights as a consumer.

While many individuals may attempt the credit repair process on their own, they usually do not have the insight and or the knowledge to use all of the rights granted to them in law.  In America you have rights; the right to represent yourself in a court of law but you would gladly defer to the expertise of an attorney, the right to prepare your own taxes but you would gladly feel relief in deferring to the expertise an accountant or tax preparer can provide.  You also have the right to do your own credit repair but why would you?  This too should be deferred to the experts at myscoreisgood.com.

Myscoreisgood.com offers professional credit repair services.  We know how to repair a credit score efficiently and effectively.  Myscoreisgood.com will contact the credit bureaus and orcreditors directly and help resolve any issues that you might have with them while keeping you aware of the progress we're making through online access.

By contracting with Myscoreisgood.com we will work with you to avoid future credit problems.  Our program credit professionals will sit down with you and look at your financial situation to devise a plan that works for you.  As a recipient of this newsletter, sign up for one of our programs by March 10, 2011 and receive a $100 credit towards your individualized credit repair program.  In a short time, we will have you on your way to increased credit scores, lower interest rates and a better future. Left Behind

Me, Left Behind

That thought doesn't even enter my mind.

You're asleep in your bed, and you awake to find
You're one of the people that's been left behind.

Now you think it's time to pray,
So you drop to your knees and start to say,
Please God take me, what didn't I do?
I was a good person to everyone I knew.

I thought for sure this wouldn't happen to me
Being good to everyone, it's a guarantee.

This is the problem with some people today
They think if you're good, that's the only way.

Get Saved
Romans 10:9-10

Put God number one, and keep Him there,

Everything else in this world doesn't even compare.

There wouldn't be a soul, not even one,
If we all just do what God wants done.

It could happen anytime, only God will know
So don't be surprised, be ready to go.

Don't Be Left Behind!
