Faith has been defined as the confident belief or trust in the truth or trustworthiness of a person, concept or thing; a confident belief in a transcendent reality. We all have "stepped out on faith" in our life, trusting and believing that our needs, wants and desires will be fulfilled. How strong is our faith? Do we have undeniable faith, the questionable equivalent of a mustard seed? We trust and believe in the works of man each day. We have watched as our existence has become what is the miracles and revelations of yesterday. We are reminded through the readings of the bible, Hebrews, Chapter 11 how faith works for those who believe. It speaks of those who we recognize as Prophets and people of God, who had a personal relationship with God and their faith and what became of them. Faith has its rewards and it is not for us to determine the outcome. Our faith stands on a scale of balances, reasoning; proof that what we believe in exists or has probability. Our faith has been bantered when we attempt to move beyond the comfort of our peers and family. Our faith has been a controversial topic in religious forums. Our faith is a personal accomplishment, an internal connection which moves us onward and forward. Our faith is based on our personal experiences, our belief system, our fears and concerns of what may, or may not be. However, we are losing faith's value. We seek to find what others have done or are willing to do. How far will they push to achieve their goal? Were they prepared for eternal peace at the time of their death? Faith is a personal assessment of your experiences. Faith, the size of a mustard seed is difficult to acquire while watching others. There is no room for doubt or hesitancy. It is our faith that has brought us through the good, bad and ugly times. It is our faith that keeps us whole when we want to break down. Faith is the internal fortitude that nourishes us daily. We live in a society today where approval has become the most important factor when choosing our way of life. Faith has no need to seek approval, no reason to fit the pattern of your friends or family, it's your personal connection to your goals and God. It is based on your beliefs, what you trust, your hopes, and your reality. Faith is developed through your personal growth. "Stepping out on faith", one must be courageous, be like those in our history who had the internal fortitude, the "faith", to do what was not popular or favorable during the time. Faith is contagious. Faith the size of a mustard seed will move mountains, feed a multitude, and heal the sick. Who would have dared to cross the Red Sea without faith; traveled in darkness along the Underground Railroad without faith; or marched in Selma Alabama without faith? Our faith today has become shaken with doubt. Unemployment, medical insurance issues, crime, lack of finances for education, natural disasters, war, are we losing what is necessary? Today's daily issues will be solved by faith. Faith, the size of a mustard seed.

Voices of My Sisters
FAITH.... is within, trusting in yourself as a child of GOD.
FAITH... when you lie in your bed at night sleepless, not knowing where your next dollar is coming from, then a still voice over powers your thought ... it's gonna be alright....and you become still.
FAITH ...is when you feel in your human body, you are so alone because the root of your life has become your third child...my MOM.
FAITH is trusting in GOD.... when I close my eyes and his presence superceedes all.
FAITH...is my GOD. The Voice of Myrna Lyle - Spiritual Sister
Faith is something that I couldn't touch but could definitely feel as I began walking and trusting in the Lord. I knew that as low as I had gone there was no choice for me but to believe that there was a power far greater than me. I knew that this source of power would guide me along the new walk that I needed in order for me to survive.
It didn't happen right away but I realize that it's a process on a daily basis that allows you to truly develop a real relaionship with the Lord, which in turn helps you to develop faith.

"Somebody Prayed for Me"
Authors: Allyson M. Deese, Linda R. Herman & Tinisha Nicole Johnson
Allyson M. Deese opens this spiritual experience with the title piece, "Somebody Prayed For Me," a heartfelt poem that reminds us of the importance of prayer. There are so many things we could have been in life but somebody prayed for you and for me. And now we must pray for others because prayer does change things. In Silent Cries, Linda R. Herman shares the tale of a teen-aged mother who suffers abuse and rape at the hands of the person she loves. Rape is devastating at any age, but imagine a seventeen year-old girl struggling to get past the pain. With prayer, it is possible. Tinisha N. Johnson's short story, Facing Reality, opens our eyes to how much our children are influenced by our actions. A mother tries to drown her sorrows in alcohol but doesn't realize the affect her behavior has upon her twelve-year-old daughter until she makes a shocking discovery. Every piece was written with the hope of inspiring and reminding everyone of the importance of prayer. Please visit Allyson's website to purchase her book: http://www.allysonmdeese.webs.com

Securing Your Family's Future
In a recent survey by The Federal Reserve Board, it is statically shown that less than 78% of all African American, Hispanic and Minority households do not have some form of life insurance. In today's society, minorities continue to have lower life expectancies than other races in the United States. So, why aren't minorities securing their families future by attempting to purchase some form of life insurance? Have minorities been neglected in the understanding of the need for life insurance? Life insurance benefits are crucial to the financial security one's family. In case of your death, the "beneficiary" on your life insurance policy will receive the amount accumulated to pay off your funeral, burial and other expenses. Without this, family and church members would have to endure the costs on their own.
The National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) states that the average cost of a "regular basic adult funeral" is somewhere between $6500.00 and $7400.00 and that does not include the cost of burial. The process of finding the right life insurance for your family is easy. If you would like a free quote please give me a call today. We will be able to compare quotes from top-rated companies and choose the policy that best fits your situation FOR FREE. Starr L.
