Greetings!
Did you know that married couples and those in committed relationships tend to have better health than those outside of relationships?
So why is the divorce rate so high and why are happy and healthy relationships so hard to sustain?
Over the last year I have seen more men in these programs than I have in all the past years put together!
I can't tell you how much fun it is to see couples who are learning to find an even more fulfilling life together though learning about each other and improving their own non-verbal communications skills.
Check out the new Learning About Connection workshop. It isn't just for couples, it is also for those wanting to be the best partner they can be!
Please join us soon and pass this on to anyone you feel might enjoy and benefit from our heart-centered work!
I am deeply appreciative of you and your interest in this wonderful journey!
With Warmest Regards, Barbara Alexander Epona Ridge

Learn the Sacred Dance of Life from Horses

July 12-17, 2010 Finding Inner Balance
and Inner Peace
This
retreat provides a powerfully reflective adventure as you open to your
inner journey of balance and personal joy.
We start with the lower energy centers, as we focus on the balance of the first through fourth Chakras.
The combination of experiential sound of the crystal singing bowls and the powerful work with the horses, we support our emotions, sense of
security, honor in relationships, self care and self confidence.
The advanced work includes an awareness of intention, personal expression, sense of
inner peace, and the use of personal power.
Once you find the path to inner balance, we will expand to create momentum with much more clarity and personal awareness.
This program is an intensive in non-verbal skills, both within yourself and in relation to others.
It teaches connection at the most intimate levels and culminates in the sacred dance with horses.

Learning About Connection
A Great Retreat for Anyone in Relationship
 July 23-25, 2010
Learning the art of healthy connection is a skill that can change your life! Studies have shown that ninety percent of communication is non-verbal, yet most of us spend our time getting all of our information from the 10% of verbal communication that we are aware of. There is an art to the sacred dance of connection between humans that the horses are graciously teaching us. It is the subtle realization of the non-verbal world combined with simultaneous awareness of others. They help us to learn where the healthiest connection can occure in different situations, in addition to teaching us how to 'just be' with someone without needing to fix or change them. You will learn some tools to help you hear your own truth and to be able to stand in it without crossing other's boundaries or having other's cross yours.
You will learn about simultaneous awareness and how to honor each other on your path, opening the doors for two balanced individuals to be together in one relationship that honors both beings...
It is an equine facilitated human skills course that can benefit everyone!
Through individual experiences with horses and each other, we will have fun learning about what is working as well as how we can be even better!
( July 23-25, 2010 Friday 7-9pm,
Saturday 9:30-4:30 or Sunday 9:30-4:30)
$250
for an
individual or $450 per couple. Workshop includes handouts and all horse
activities.

Feature Article: Is My Relationship Good For My Health?
Creating a healthy foundation for relationships.
With divorce rates at an all time high, we have begun to understand how we may not have set ourselves up for success in the first place...
Studies have shown that
unhappily married couples are at higher risk for heart attacks and
cardiovascular disease than happily married couples.
In the New York Times article, Is Marriage Good for Your
Health? By Tara
Parker-Pope, she notes that studies indicate "the emotional tone of a
marital fight turned out to be just as predictive of poor heart health
as whether the individual smoked or had high cholesterol."
No wonder we are having trouble!
Given that 90% of communication is non-verbal, most people are completely unaware of how to tune into a deeper level of understanding.
It is probable that many people fail at long term relationships because communication gets increasingly difficult when problems arise.
If you can effectively communicate by really hearing and
honoring each
other, you will not only be enjoying your life more, but you
will be improving the odds for long term health and overall wellness for you both.
Through taking the time to learn better communication skills, especially the non-verbal ones, you will be building and fortifying your foundation in success and increasing the probability of a more joyous and most fulfilling future!
