Electric Water Cleaning
Coagulation is probably the most important physical/chemical reaction used in modern water filtration systems. Dissolved and insoluble solids and contaminants are carried within the water and these are held within the water solution.
By controlling the electrolysis in the water, these contaminants can be freed. Thus electro-coagulation can be achieved by passing a stable charge through the solution. This dynamic charge neutralises the charges on the contaminants within the water to initiate the coagulation process. This results in the freed contaminants forming a "flock" which can be easily removed by a clarifier (mechanical scrapper) and filtration without the need for chemical addition.
In the food and beverage industry particularly, this lack of chemical addition can enable the flock/sludge produced to be sold as a product rather than paying for land injection or landfill, thus adding to the already significant savings and paybacks of reducing CODs and Suspended Solids in the water without chemical addition.
Using electro-coagulation is an environmentally friendly alternative to the widely used chemical coagulation. This is only possible by an integrated logic and process control design.
The water treatment system developed by Surewaters and Motor Control Warehouse is fully automated and is controlled via a touch screen HMI (human machine interface). The HMI front end to the system offers the client full and easy control with access to a comprehensive system diagnostics menu. The various pumps and critical controls within the system are inverter or PLC controlled and the whole system sits on a high speed communications network giving the user near instant real time control.
Together Surewaters and MCW offer a complete turnkey solution from design through installation to training and client handover.
Payback periods will vary between installations, this obviously depends on how much water a particular client uses, if chemicals are currently used, how dirty the water is and what levy is charged by the respective water authority to handle the dirty water.
Our Clients aim for capital return on investment within the first twelve months.
