Greetings!
Welcome to the September 2011 issue of Inspired by Design. September begins the new school year; the new season in fashion and of course, the latest in designer jewelry. This month, the CJDG designers show their version of changing fall color with all the plum, orange, pink, red, and golden yellow gemstones they could find. Each month, Inspired by Design offers just a sampling of the jewelry designs that are available from our member designers and the stores that carry them. To find out more about our member designers and the stories behind the art, visit our website -- www.cjdgjewelers.org. You can find archived copies of the Inspired by Design newsletter here. Many thanks, loyal readers! Please pass this on to anyone you think might be interested in extraordinary jewelry and exceptional designers. If you are a jewelry designer or retailer who is interested in becoming a member of the CJDG, please contact Marylouise. Many thanks. Regards, Jeanne Johngren President, Contemporary Jewelry Design Group

Mark Schneider: Nature Captured in Carved Stone
Mark Schneider frames the natural beauty of the stones when he designs his award- winning jewelry. While much of Mark's work is clean and architecturally modern, here he pairs a gloriously blue- green, German carved Chrysoprase with a blazing Fire Opal. The contrasting cool and hot colors surround a delicate flower studded with diamonds.

Rich textured gold set against steely gray sterling silver create the frame for the dramatic tension between a deep red rose cut Garnet opposite a tiny faceted garnet. This cuff is a balancing act that conjures up both an ancient and modern sensibility -- a tactile, inviting tribute to a modern medieval aesthetic.

Patricia Tschetter: Hello Sunshine!
This past summer's relentless sun in Texas inspired these gleaming earrings. Patricia Tschetter captures the intensity of blazing heat in granulated gold with luscious orange Spessartite Garnet centers. Because the edges appear to move, someone called them "crazy flowers." We call them crazy beautiful.
