Gregore Joailliers: Whimsical Winning Designs

 "I strive to keep my work whimsical and fun. Just when I think I have a clever idea, I try to remind myself that nature created it all before and I am just rediscovering." This brooch, "Fantasticus," won First Place at the 2009 AGTA Spectrum Awards. The little frog was inspired by long walks in the forest I took as a young boy and the melody of the frogs falling asleep under the stars.

Gurhan: Introducing 4/24
|  Gurhan approaches each design as a problem to be solved. Inspired by his desire to tackle the precise setting of diamonds, Gurhan created a fine 4-karat gold exo-skeleton -- an alloy originally developed by the early Ottomans. With the structural integrity of this metal, Gurhan can set the tiniest of diamonds. This proprietary new method allows them to "float" on the gold, unencumbered by prongs or bezels.
