ASPEN AVIONICS and UNITED ROTORCRAFT SOLUTIONS announced the FAA approval of the supplemental type certificate for installation of the Aspen evolution flight display system on the Eurocopter AS350 model helicopter.

 

AVIDYNE CORP. announced they are expanding the available market for the DFC90 digital flight control system to include Entegra-equipped Piper PA-46 Matrix and Mirage aircraft. Avidyne also announced they are currently accepting deposits from owners of Entegra-equipped Matrix and Mirage aircraft who are interested in reserving an early slot for the DFC90 at significant savings. 

 

COMLUX AVIATION SERVICES LLC based in Indianapolis, the jet maintenance center of Comlux, The Aviation Group announced RICHARD (RICH) LYON has joined the sales effort as an independent sales representative.  

 

JET AVIATION ST. LOUIS has developed a WiFi STC for Learjet 40 and 45 series aircraft and plans to adapt the STC to other aircraft including the Challenger 300 and 605, Global and Gulfstream V.

 

KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY SALINA has added four new bachelor's degree options: unmanned aircraft systems, avionics, airport management and air traffic control. The university already offers bachelor's degrees in professional pilot and aviation maintenance.

 

MID-CONTINENT INSTRUMENTS recently broke ground on a new 6,200-square-foot addition to the company's Wichita, Kan., headquarters. The Wichita building expansion will allow Mid-Continent Instruments to grow its new True Blue Power division and engineering department. The company will add 24 jobs over the next five years including mechanical, electrical design and certification engineers and bench technicians.

JETNET reported that the first five months of the 2011 pre-owned market showed early-stage recovery signs with expectations that 2011 would be a year of correction. In May this trend continued as JETNET reported double-digit growth of 19.7percent in pre-owned business jet retail sale transactions in the first five months of 2011, along with a continued decline in average asking price.
