Thank you so much for your participation in The Source.  As we journey through the Life Area of Curiosity and Learning, think back to when you were a child.  Remember how curious you were then?  Children come into the world full of questions, unselfconscious and full of wonder.  The Source allows us the opportunity to tap into the child in each of us.  When you add that to the strength and knowledge we can have as adults, most anything can be accomplished.

 

Immerse yourself in The Source and allow it to become a part of you. Here are a few suggested action steps:

 

1. Memorize the Life Areas and Challenge Areas. This will enable to you quickly identify a Challenge Area when you are facing it. It will also help you quickly reference a Life Area to turn the momentum around for the challenge to a Life Area.  

 

2. Take a few minutes daily or weekly to re-read your notes & information in your playbook and focus guide card (if you purchased the extra kit) on Curiosity and Learning. Although they are designed to be put in an appointment book or binder, it may be helpful to put the focus guide for the month on your nightstand, in briefcase or in your car so they're easily accessible.  

 

3. Connect with a Practice Partner. (see below for details)

 

4. Next, we suggest you slow down and really hear the people around you. Start with your significant others: spouse, children, parents, friends. What are they really saying? Be curious about their life. Enjoy them and clarify any miscommunications/assumptions. Do you want them to change something in their life? Can you identify the Stage of Change they are in? Are there any clarifying questions I can ask to help them move into the Preparation Stage or Action? Ask the same things of yourself. Remember, being in a state of curiosity and learning can reveal important information in your business, as well. Ask yourself, is the person I'm talking to in a pre-contemplation mode or are they in a contemplation mode? Do they seem ready for solutions or action? If not they may be stuck in the first two stages. If so, they in the Preparation or Action stage. You will know they are in the Preparation or Action Stage, if they are willing to problem solve or ready or accept what you are offering.

Remember:  Others are walking around in their own process, and negative self-talk so we don't have to take things personally!

Practice Partners
Relationship
One great way to re-enforce your learning is to use the Life Area of Relationships and share with another.  We suggest connecting with a "Practice Partner" or two each month.  This is someone with whom you can share what you are learning and "live out loud" with.  Here are some suggested "curiosity/learning" clarifying questions to ask following each call: 

 

1.  What stood out to you?

2.  How did you feel?
3.  What life area(s) can support you?
4.  What would that look like? What steps/actions will you take this week?
 

RememberIf a Challenge Area shows up, remember, you are a PP (PRACTICE Partner), not a PS (Problem Solver).  You are there to LEARN to listen and re-direct them to the Life Areas.  You may suggest a Life Area, but then ask them, "What would it look like to use that Life Area to overcome the Challenge Area you're facing?" Enjoy the process of learning to let other people take on their own challenges, while you listen and support them in their journey.
