Spotlight on the Life Sciences Institute
The LSI is featured in the latest U-M
Out of the Blue
show

Happy 2011 from the Life Sciences Institute.

On a daily basis I'm presented with new excitement, new challenges, and new ideas about the promise and the possibilities of the science that we do here at LSI. Our faculty are dedicated to opening new windows on understanding some of the deadliest threats to human health: cancer, diabetes, neurodegenerative disease, and bacterial infection, to name a few.

I'm pleased to share with you an inside look at some of the energy and innovation here at the LSI in this U-M show, Out of the Blue, which was taped just last month.

The eight-minute show will air multiple times in the coming months on the Big Ten Network. The next air date is tomorrow, Friday, February 4 at 12:30 pm (EST).

The incredible arc of the LSI's story and trajectory for the future is illustrated in the video by members of our faculty, students, leadership, and yours truly.

Special thanks to faculty members Janet Smith and Jason Gestwicki, Leadership Council member Roger Newton, and helpful LSI lab members for lending your eloquence and expertise to help tell our story.

So, I invite you to watch the video, enjoy, and send the link to anyone you think would be interested in learning about, and supporting, our work.

Looking forward to another year of deep collaborations across the U-M campus and beyond.

All the best,
