Ellsworth Epiphany Review
By Kristen Romero
Bonk Breaker Bar

I recently took the Ellsworth Epiphany for a test ride to Sand Point. What an epiphany! (definition: a sudden manifestation of the essence of something.)
I must admit I am a total roadie, and I ride a really stiff road bike, but I found a lot of similarities between the two.  As you all probably know, the climb to Sand Point can be a long haul on most mountain bikes; however, the lightweight, all-aluminum Epiphany exceeded my expectations going uphill.  Part of the reason it moved so quickly, was the lock-out option on the front fork and the flex-free aluminum frame.  Here are a few of my pros and cons below.  It's a demo bike, so come in some time to test it out!

Pros:
Light for a 5.2-inch travel bike
Comfortable and plush descending
Handmade in the USA
Sexy look
Quick and snappy up hills
Perfect for the trails in Santa Cruz County

Cons:
Little on the $$ side, but not by much compared to others in its class.

What's on the Bike:
Components:  Shimano XT Deore
Seatpost:  Thompson
Seat:  WTB Ellsworth Specific Seat
Fork:  Fox Talas RLC (Rebound, Lockout, Compression
Headset:  Hot Pink Chris King

Tim came to Bike Station from Monterey one afternoon, and asked if we could get in an ASR 7 for him to test ride.  Within a couple of days we had one in the shop, and we let him give the bike a whirl in Nisene Marks.  He came back with rosy cheeks and a grin on his face, and was sold on the 7-inch full suspension bike made in Colorado.  Happy trails, Tim -- we hope you crush it out there!

Bike Profile: Seven and Seven!
7" of travel and 7.7 lbs of frame weight give you the option to let out your inner animal on the downhill and let your pedals fly on the up's.  This steed is  light enough for the fire road climb, and perfect for those days where you're feeling frisky and craving the single track in the Demonstration Forest.
