Dear BBB Accredited Business,

Election season is all around us and November 6th will be here before we know it. But of course, we will hear about campaigns and be solicited for contributions long before that. That's why our first article this month is to help you get through a scam free election season!

One of the Better Business Bureau's many operations is to handle complaints from consumers, but do you know the main way consumers show their dissatisfaction with a company? Read the article below to find out!

As consumers and businesses struggle through a tough economy, many look for ways to cut back & prepare for the future. We bring you two articles this month on retirement. The first to help you plan for your future and the second is to make sure you aren't neglecting your future.

The BBB has been a victim of an email scam for many months now and this scam seems to be surfacing again. In our last article this month, we remind you how to tell the difference between a real and a fake email from the BBB.

BBB Email Scam
computer-scam In the past months they Better Business Bureau has been the victim of a scam which sends unsuspecting businesses emails regarding a supposed complaint filed against their company. These emails are intended to put viruses or doing other harm to computers. Scammers are possibly seeking to gain information off of the victims computer if successful. From what we have seen in the past, the email contains a Complaint ID #, a Consumer Name and a link to view the supposed complaint. The danger is when the email recipient opens the link included in the email.
Look for emails that come from local BBB email addresses, include local BBB employee names and addresses.
If you have any questions regarding an email you received, call  us first and we can check it out for you!
