We invite you to join us at SCAM JAM 2011 this Thursday, September 15th! The BBB has teamed up  with the FBI and other enforcement agencies to provide you with helpful tips on how to detect and avoid common scams. You can also hear from consumer-protection experts on health care, mortgage, credit cards & many other topics.

As College students are getting accustomed to their new way of campus life, we offer tips on protecting their identity while away from home.

Also, we offer tips to consumers wanting to commemorate the tragic events of 9/11 by purchasing items that may be of sentimental value but will not likely increase in value over time.

As always, we want to encourage responsible use of our BBB Accredited Business logo to let consumers know that a BBB Accredited Business agrees to abide by BBB Standards. Be Aware 9/11 Anniversary Items May Not Increase In Value     

 

American flagWith the 10-year anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks upon us, Better Business Bureau is advising consumers that the value of most memorabilia and commemorative items is sentimental; value for many items may not increase but may likely drop over time.

The FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association and the BBB will be hosting a free Scam Jam This Thursday September 15, 2011 at the Pontchartrain Center from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
