Dear BBB Accredited Business,

Welcome to 2011.  January is the time we like to reflect on the past year and look at the patterns and trends of 2010.  We all want to do things better in the new year.  In that mindset, we submit an article about the most prominent types of scams that BBBs across the country have noticed in 2010.  Also, having concluded 2010, we have prepared the annual BBB statistics on our instances of service to consumers and businesses this past year.

The number one new year's resolution for most people is to lose weight or start a healthier lifestyle.  Once way many people proceed is by joining a gym or fitness club.  The BBB wants to help consumers to be in a wise position as they enter into contracts with those types of businesses.

BBB Accredited Businesses can make a new year's resolution to let others know that they are BBB Acccredited Businesses.  We've included a guide regarding how to use the new BBB Accredited Business seal to show others that you meet the BBB Accreditation standards.  Feel free to contact us with any questions, and thank you for your support.

BBB Encourages Proper Use of BBB Accredited Business Logo

Did You Know:

The Better Business Bureau serving Southeast Louisiana encourages all Accredited Businesses to use the BBB Accredited Business logo, but properly. Many BBB Accredited Businesses are still using the outdated CARE logo, or incorrectly using just the BBB torch. We want businesses to use the most correct logo in the best possible ways. When used improperly, it could cause confusion, misunderstanding, or even mistrust.  Proper use of the BBB Accredited Business logo distinguishes your business from your competitor by demonstrating your commitment to truth in advertising, assurance that your business will stand behind its product or work, and a commitment to supporting the BBB's work of advancing trust in the marketplace.

For more information on using the BBB Accredited Business Seal correctly.

These are similar, but are not the logos that are approved for use online. Contact the BBB if you would like to use the Accredited Business seal online, or if you need digital copies of the graphic files.  For the BBB Accredited Business logo usage sheet (pdf), click here.
