love with a beautiful young woman in the peaceful town of Cholula during the Mexican Revolution.  The problem?  The general's troops have come to Cholula to seize the property of the rich, and the young woman's father is the town's wealthiest citizen.

Treasured as one of the jewels of Mexican cinema, Enamorada is featured as part of the Latin American Cinema Festival of Kansas City.  The festival, presented by Sociedad Hidalgo, takes place on Saturdays, September 4 - October 2, at the Rio Theatre in Overland Park.

Contemporary and classic films from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Argentina, and Chile offer insight into Latin American culture, customs, and traditions.  A bilingual discussion in English and Spanish follows each screening.  Click here for a complete list of  films.
Humanities grants are available in support of film discussions on humanities topics.
