Happy Holidays!

The holidays this year feel somehow different - people seem more generous and filled with the holiday spirit.

For example, the other day when Ned and I were traveling on the interstate, we stopped for gas and a bathroom break in Delaware and a homeless man was sitting on the sidewalk at the station where we stopped. It was cold, and that cement must have been chilling to the bone. I said a prayer for the man while making my way to the bathroom, but Ned had a better idea and one that I wish I'd thought of! He stopped at the hot dog stand and bought 2 hot dogs which he brought out to the man and wished him Merry Christmas. Nice!

Later, I felt the spirit of the holidays again while reading the newsposts being shared all over Facebook about the anonymous Santas at Wall Mart paying off lay-aways for families with kids. The comments impressed me even more as many people wrote what a good idea it was and  went off to do the same in their neighborhood Wall Mart. So many people sharing in so many ways. This is truly what the Holiday Season is all about. My wish is that we continue to share our abundance all year long!

This week I have included a few more tips for enjoying this season with less stress, more peace and, of course, some jokes - laughter is the best stress reliever. In addition, for your last minute holiday shopping list, I have put together some bargains on my bundled products. Please share these with your family and friends!

Next week there will be no newsletter as I will be off enjoying time with my family.

Thanks for a fabulous 2011 and Best of Health to you and yours in 2012!

More Tips For A Stress Free Holiday!

As many Secret Santas have discovered this past week, gratitude and generosity go a long way for cheering us up and removing all those stress hormones that are flowing though our body. Our bodies release endorphins (feel good hormones) when we are grateful for our many blessings - even more so when we write down all that we are grateful for, so this week let's all count our blessings!

You are one of the many customers that I am grateful for - Thank You!

The same effect is found when we are generous with others - even if that means simply wishing the clerk or bagger at the supermarket "Happy Holidays." Generosity of spirit is contagious. When you look the cashier in the eye and say something pleasant, it makes them smile and starts a progression where the next person in line hears you and also shares pleasantries, and the cashier begins to wish everyone in line a sincere "have a nice day" and several people leave the store feeling more peace and joy due to your simple act of kindness. Try this out, it's fun and you'll feel so much better!

Another way to soothe away all that tension in those shopping bag carrying muscles is a long hot bath with Epsom salts. Epsom salts help detox your body - removing toxins, relaxing tense muscles and opening the pores to really clean your skin. Many big drug stores like Rite Aide and CVS sell 3lb. bags of lavender or mint scented Epsom salts. I use 4 of these big bags in a full tub and soak for 20 minutes, once a week. I like the lavender flavor, and find that I feel more calm and peaceful for several days after my soak. Try it, it's quite decadent, you'll love it!

I hope these tips have given you a few ideas for a more peaceful and joyous holiday season.

Enjoy and I'll be back in 2012!
