 Greetings!

Well, Black Friday has come and gone again this year, with mixed results. Some people that I spoke with who participated were thrilled with their bargains, some were disappointed in the long lines and rudeness of some shoppers at the big box stores, but most of those I asked did not participate this year. More and more people it seems, are planning to shop locally as much as possible.
Personally, I'm not crazy about shopping at all, so you will never see me on any Black Friday lines. I did take advantage of a few cyber Monday deals yesterday, and I plan on shopping locally for other gifts.
In the spirit of the Holiday Season and in gratitude for all of you, I have put together a few special discounts on my most popular bundles for your holiday shopping:
  • For the Pilates enthusiast on your Holiday gift list - 40% off my Pilates Bundle - get the Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced Pilates series, all three for the unbelievably low price of $29.98! (coupon code: Holidays)
  • For the Boomer Woman looking for relief from Menopause hot flashes, night sweats and mood swings - my Meno-Boomer Bundle - which includes a silk eye bag, Acu-Yoga for Menopause DVD, all 4 downloadable tracks from my guided relaxation CD, a link to 10 video exercises and techniques to help you stop lighting up the room like a space heater, and another special bonus that I'm throwing in for the holidays! The lot, for 40% off with the same coupon code!
  • And for that friend or family member with chronic back pain, here's my Complete Back Care Bundle  which includes my Amazon best selling book "STOP Back Pain - Kiss Your Back, Neck and Sciatic Nerve Pain Goodbye!", Get Rid Of Sciatic Pain For Good DVD, a set of my Tension Tamer Balls and book, and all 4 mp3 downloads of my guided relaxation CD. All yours for only $28.98 while supplies last - Hurry!
There is the usual humor to tickle your funny bone this week, a few tips on keeping stress at bay during the holidays, announcements and a book recommendation. Enjoy!

Best of Health,

How To Keep Holiday Stress From Ruining Your Holidays!

1. Set your watch alarm for once an hour and when it goes off - STOP what you're doing, sit tall with your feet flat on the floor, close your eyes and inhale deeply to the count of 5 or 6, then exhale counting to 6 or 7. Repeat for 1 - 2 minutes. This will send fresh, oxygenated blood circulating throughout your body, restoring your energy! Deep breathing is the quickest way to reconnect and revitalize.

2. Make a date to do something special for yourself, like a girls night out for manicure/pedicures, or movie night with some friends, or a romantic dinner with your special someone. This may seem impossible with all the other activities at this time of year, but it's very important. Just knowing that you have this date to look forward to will make you smile when you're under stress; and then you'll have such a good time that the "feel good" endorphins will be flowing through your body for quite a while afterwards. Go for it - I know you'll be glad that you did.

3. Laughter truly is the best medicine - especially when you have the blues. According to William F. Fry, M.D., associate professor of clinical psychiatry at Stanford University, laughing 100-200 times per day is the cardiovascular equivalent of rowing for 10 minutes. When something strikes you as funny, you laugh. And when you laugh, your body responds by flexing and relaxing 15 facial muscles and dozens of others all over your body. Your pulse and respiration increase briefly, oxygenating your blood. Your brain experiences a decrease in pain perception and depression, caused by endorphin production. Additionally, endorphins reduce the flow of harmful stress hormones and boost our immune systems. Laughter increases the concentration of salivary immunoglobulin A, which defends against infectious organisms entering through the respiratory tract, helping to reduce breathing difficulties in older baby boomers. Laughing benefits both our physical body, and the health of our mind and spirit. So open those e-mail jokes from friends and grandkids, watch funny movies or TV shows, or try a laughing meditation session. Here's a link to my laughter sample.

Tuesday Tickling of Your Funny Bone!

Two guys are hunting deer. First guy says, "Did you see that?"

 "No," the second guy says.

"A bald eagle just flew overhead."

 "Oh," says the second guy.

A couple of minutes later, the first guy says, "Did you see that?"

"See what?" the second guy asks.

"Are you blind? There was a big, black bear walking on that hill, over there."

 "Oh."

A few minutes later, the first guy again: "Did you see that?"

By now, the second guy is getting aggravated, so he says, "Yes, I did!"

And the first guy says: "Then why did you step in it?"
