Does stress regularly impact your quality of life?

Although many would joke that stress is the "new normal," it should be taken very seriously.

In North America alone, millions of women and men experience "frazzled" stress-like symptoms due to juggling too many roles within family, work and community. For the most part, the frazzled woman is excited by her life, yet there never seems to be enough time to do everything.

Not that long ago, Rosalie Moscoe found herself caught in this vicious cycle - burdened by too many responsibilities - she felt guilty, depressed, alone and trapped. As a successful children's music performer, she travelled a lot and struggled to manage work and family life. Rosalie's hurried lifestyle came with a price - she spent years with throat infections, back problems and other ailments. Finally, Rosalie made the conscious decision to take charge of her life, and learned ways to relax, and improve her diet and lifestyle. Most importantly, she began to understand how to alter her perception of stressful events.

Today, Rosalie shares all of the best life-changing tips, health information and stress-busting tools that she learned not only from personal experience, but also from her years as a teacher, professional speaker on stress relief, and Registered Nutritional Consulting Practitioner (Holistic Nutritionist). You will find answers to your stress dilemmas in her new book: Frazzled Hurried Women! Your Stress Relief Guide to Thriving...Not Merely Surviving.

Being worn out and rushed isn't living, it's merely surviving.

Order now and take charge of your health and well-being today (and enjoy the bonus gifts, too!)

 Greetings!

This past week was absolutely spectacular in Virginia! Lovely weather, excellent workshops, trainees and family visits. The trees along the George Washington Parkway are beginning to turn, and due to the long weekend, many boaters were out on the water, making the view all along the river appear dreamlike - white sails, the sun reflecting off the calm water...  Simply wonderful!

While here, Carrie Pierce and Gayle Edgell interviewed me for their radio show Magnificent Menopause and Beyond. We had a great time together, but once again their questions made me realize how many Baby Boomers are suffering from back or neck and shoulder pain. Today I have included a link to that interview where I shared lots of tips for keeping your back pain away, and my Tip of the Week covers some more info for relaxing your neck and shoulders.

As always, I've included a few funnies to keep you laughing and some book recommendations.

Enjoy!

Best of Health,

Tips For Relaxing Tense Shoulders

bed

Every day I'm amazed at the number of people I see wearing their shoulders as earmuffs. The bad news is that most of the time it's unconscious and they don't even know they are tensing those shoulder muscles. The good news is that here are a couple of simple ways to to relax those shoulders each day, that you can start immediately!

Set your watch or computer alarm for once an hour and when it goes off STOP what you're doing, and then do one or both of these techniques:

1.  Sit tall in your chair and inhale deeply as you take the fingers of both hands and squeeze your Trapezius muscle at the very back of your shoulders where they meet the back of your neck. Continue breathing deeply and squeezing for one minute. Release slowly and gently massage that area. Congratulations, you have reduced the tension in your shoulders, while increasing circulation! How's that for multi-tasking!

2.  Place your hands on your shoulders and make really big circles with your elbows. Make 8 circles in one direction and then reverse direction for 8 more circles. This loosens up your shoulder joints and increases the circulation, again, relieving the tension in your shoulders. As an added benefit, if you do this regularly, it will increase the range of motion in your shoulders!

How easy was that? Make these two steps a part of your daily life for the next week and your body will thank you!

And, Oh-By-The-Way - That chronic tension in your neck and shoulders didn't get there overnight, so continue to give yourself this couple of minutes a few times a day, every day, and turn it into a new daily habit to keep you healthier and enjoying life for many years to come!

~A grandmother was surprised by her 7 year old grandson making her coffee one morning.

She drank what was the worst cup of coffee in her life. When she got to the bottom there were three little green army men in the cup. She said, "Honey, what are the army men doing in my coffee?"

Her grandson said, "Grandma, it says on TV: 'The best part of waking up is the soldiers in your cup!"

~ A farmer was milking his cow. He was just starting to get a good rhythm going when a bug flew into the barn and started circling his head. Suddenly, the bug flew into the cow's ear. The farmer didn't think much about it, until the bug squirted out into his bucket. It went in one ear and out the udder.

~ Mother and baby pigeon were out flying. Baby pigeon said, "I can't make it, I'm getting too tired." His mother said, "Don't worry, I'll tie a piece of string to one of your legs and the other end to mine." Then baby started to cry. "What's wrong?" said the mother. "I don't want to be pigeon towed!"
