Do April Showers
Really Bring May Flowers?
I hope so!
It feels great to see the little green shoots coming up from the mud today.
Spring golfers are out in droves and we've seen spring walkers, bikers and runners filling the streets on these lovely April days.
Spring also brings unpleasant things like allergies!
If allergies are bugging you, there is a solution that I recommend which I've found beneficial - local honey! Pretty cool, huh? The theory behind using local honey is that it was pollinated by bees and with the same plants that are causing your itchy eyes and runny nose. This means that by taking a tablespoon of this honey in your tea every day, your body builds its own immunity to these allergens. You must be patient, however, because it takes about 6 months to build this resistance, but after that, you won't have to try to catch up to your runny nose any more.
You can also practice your Yoga inversions like Legs up the wall, Shoulderstand, Plow or Bridge. These poses help open nasal passages and drain your sinuses.
Spring also heralds the arrival of Golf Fever!
If you're a golfer and you can't wait to get out on the course click here to read my article on Golf Conditioning to refresh your stretching routine, It's been a long winter and you don't want to strain anything before summer even starts.

You Did It! Thanks!

Here's a delicious recipe for Spring Grilling - I LOVE my grill!
Grilled Artichokes with Plum Tomatoes

4 large artichokes
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 bunch scallions cut up small
2 tsp crushed fresh basil
5 cloves garlic, crushed
Salt and pepper to taste
½ lemon
6 plum tomatoes
Cut off about the top third of each artichoke, the stems, and all the tough outer leaves. Rub the exposed surfaces with your lemon. Steam the artichokes for 20 minutes. When they cool, cut in half and scoop out the prickly hairs, or the choke. In a wide bowl, mix together the basil, cut up garlic, scallions and salt and pepper.
Wash your plum tomatoes and cut each in half. Brush both the tomatoes and the artichokes with olive oil. Then roll them in your spices until well covered.
Grill each side for 5 to 7 minutes, until they are nicely browned. These make a great side dish or you can serve them over pasta for a delicious dinner.
