The Tech Committee of the SDFACC is proud to launch the ITE Series!

The International Tech Entrepreneurship Series are co-organized by UCSD and the SDFACC. The goal of these new quarterly events is to focus on technology, entrepreneurship and international trade.

ITE Series overview - The Tech Entrepreneurs RDV

The goal of this quarterly event is to bring together high level executives from the SoCal/European/International Tech Business Community and well rounded & selected UCSD graduate students (and alumni) to hear about the latest tech trends/projects/enterprises occurring in telecom/wireless, software, social media, content production/3d/special effects, content distribution (including on mobile devices), biotech, cleantech, etc. with a focus on international market opportunities and global entrepreneurship; have these two groups interact and network in a welcoming & prestigious university setting, while sharing their expertise, experience and ideas about the presentations and presented projects.

The ITE Series will start with an event on 3D Enterprises going global.
We invite you to join us for this first meeting even if you are not a 3D industry expert. We want you to take this opportunity to come and learn more about the event and the group.

Stephane Richard will present Medit, a software editor start up company delivering 3D solutions for the drug design. As a French entrepreneur developing business in the USA, he will share his experience and challenges.

Sony Electronics
Drew Martin, Senior Vice President
Chief Information Officer

Drew Martin is senior vice president and chief information officer for Sony Electronics and is responsible for developing and implementing SEL's information technology strategy in support of the company's goals.

Before his current role, Martin worked closely with the service platform, direct business and professional business groups as well as corporate functions such as purchasing, legal and security to ensure day-to-day support for business operations and delivery of investment projects. He was instrumental during the business transformation of Sony Electronics' supply-chain and was recognized for his efforts with the President's Award.

Before joining Sony, Martin managed selling systems at PepsiCo and before that he was a consultant at the Accenture consulting firm.

Martin graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor's degree in engineering. He is also on the Information Technology Advisory Board for Sharp Healthcare.

Stephane Richard, Vice President of Business Development


Dr Richard graduated in X-ray crystallography from the University Joseph Fourier (Grenoble, France). He then joined the team of Prof. Joseph P. Noel in the Structural Biology Laboratory of the Salk Institute to study the biosynthesis of terpenoid natural products. As part of the Jack Skirball Chemical Biology and Proteomics Center of the Salk Institute, Dr Richard then focused his research on the chemo-enzymatic derivatization of natural products to develop novel therapeutically relevant compounds. After pursuing molecular engineering research in the field of biofuels at Sapphire Energy Inc. for over a year, he recently joined MEDIT SA, a French Software company in the field of Structure Based Drud design, as their VP of Business Development in order to set-up their US operations.
