| Greetings! | | NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:

Romans 6:20-23 "When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The other day my wife Coby was doing errands in town with our youngest child, Ashlyn; one of the stops was the bank. Ashlyn loves going to the bank because they usually give her a balloon. This time the lady didn't give her a balloon right away, she just watched; Ashlyn was patient for a while until finally she couldn't stand it so she whispered, 'How come she isn't giving me a balloon?', Coby told her that she might not always get one and to just be polite. With a smile the lady looked at Ashlyn and said, 'would you like a balloon . . . or a chocolate?' Ashlyn's eyes got bigger for a second but then she started thinking and asked, 'how big is the chocolate?' The lady threw back her head and laughed and then said she would see what she could find. Ashlyn went away with a good sized chocolate to enjoy; the war between a childhood balloon and a womanhood chocolate was settled, at least for the moment.
There is a song, by Sidewalk Prophets, called "You Can Have Me"; some of the words are: "If I saw you on the street and you said come and follow me, but I had to give up everything, all I once held dear and all of my dreams would I love you enough to let go or would my love run dry when you asked for my life. . . If you're all you claim to be, then I am not losing anything. . . " When we make the comparison in our own lives, as Ashlyn did, how does God come out? As we are demonstrating God through our lives, and sharing Him with those around us, will they see Him as being 'worth it'? |

SNOW CAMP 2012
Our Snow Camps went really well this year. It was great to have some of the local staff who have been coming here for a long time because that meant we had a foundation group of youth who knew what was going on. It was also good to have some new staff at the camp. I was able to carry on a connection made with the Morweena Christian School where I spoke and where Aaron Yanke also visited on behalf of the camp. The school sent a few youth out to be counsellors for our Intermediate weekend. Also, a new connection with a church in Winnipeg, through the relatives of the group that were staff for Snow Camp last year, brought out a small team of staff for our Junior weekend.
For our Junior weekend we had 19 campers and for our Intermediate weekend we had 20 campers. Some of the kids asked right away if we were going to do the special girls/guys night because they enjoyed it last year. We had already planned to expand it a bit so it turned out really well. The kids had a great time with all the activities and games (snow sculpting with coloured water, 4-way capture the flag, pretzel making, snow survival challenge, etc...) and learning about God. We had five children express a desire to accept Christ and others ask for prayer for things in their life. Many of the campers had been here before; some had accepted Christ in previous years so it was a good time of continued teaching and building into their lives.
We are still short of staff for these events; with full staffing we could accommodate 40 children for each weekend. My desire for the future, once we get more staff, is to have three weekends of Snow Camp; one for Junior campers and one for Intermediate Boys and one for Intermediate Girls. That way we could really speak to the campers about gender specific struggles and concerns.
Promise Keeper Event We took the opportunity to set-up our display at the Promise Keepers event in Winnipeg again this year. Larry Solberg came with me to help out. We got to take in the sessions and we were able to make some good connect with people interested in camp work. Being in a room with over 1700 men is pretty amazing, the sessions were good and it was a lot of fun.
Missionary Couple from Ukraine
We are expecting the missionary couple (and their daughter) from the Ukraine to arrive in the middle of April. They received a VISA for 6 month, so once they are in Canada they will work on extending that to two years. They have pushed their arrival date back so that those six months will include all of summer camp. We are very excited about their arrival next month. Finances: I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for those who have given financially in the last while; you have helped to make this camp possible. I would also like to ask that as you read this, that you would be in prayer over the future of the camp and whether you should be partnering with us financially. Our finances continue to be a concern for us; we have been a bit short the last couple of months. We would very much like to keep the costs to our campers down so that as many kids as possible can attend. Right now we charge about half of what it costs us to have them come to camp and we would very much like to keep it that way. We would also like to add to the programs we are already running, and to develop new programs, but all of that requires money. Also, the continuing cost of basic operations is quite expensive. If you feel that you can and should help out with any of these things, please contact me by responding to this email or call me at 204-449-2293. If you prefer, you could also contact SCA Head Office toll-free at 1-877-474-2689.

SCA Eagle Bay Wish List:
| I have had some people ask me about a 'wish list' of items that we need at the camp, so I have put one together. If there is something that tugs at your heart that you would be willing to donate finances for, or if there is something that you have and don't need, and is in good shape, please feel free to contact me or SCA Head Office. This list is far from being complete so I will continue to expand it each month. If you have any questions or thoughts, please contact me.
