Become a Legacy Donor today! |
The Legacy for the Children Society provides long-term support for Children's Beach House (CBH). Growth of the CBH endowment funds is the best way to sustain our high quality programs. Legacy gifts continue to support Ms. Lydia's vision, to help children with special needs reach their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities. By donating a gift of $10,000 or more to a CBH endowment fund or by including CBH in your estate plan, you will be recognized as a member of our Legacy for the Children Society. Gifts to the endowment funds may be paid over two or three years.
As we approach our 75th Anniversary, individuals who make gifts prior to December, 2012, will be included in the Founder's Circle of the Legacy for the Children Society.
We hope you will contact us at 302.655.4288 for further information. Thank you for your continued support.

ISSUE 24 AUGUST 2012
A Note from the Director | |

Last week marked the end of the camp season at Children's Beach House. The last few weeks at camp were especially gratifying as our older kids came forward as mature, competent, young men and women. In light of the effort we exert in measuring outcomes, I often think that if interested parties could have seen these children eight years ago and compared them with who they have become, the question would answer itself!
For instance, consider Dylan, a 14-year-old, who was an overly shy child when he started with us eight years ago. This year during Founder's Day, he assisted by taking photos of the event, which were published in the Cape Gazette! He has made lots of friends and has joined several groups. What huge successes for a kid who was bullied because of a speech delay!
One of the best outcomes we see is the commitment to community service by the older campers. This year they raised over $1000 for the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, painted at Delaware Seashore State Park, assisted with the LEAP (Literacy Education Assistance Pups) program, and volunteered to read to preschoolers at the YMCA.
These older youths at CBH continue to combat their challenges while benefiting from their CBH connection. However, they most definitely bring our mission to life-reaching their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities.
Thank you for all you have done to support the work of Children's Beach House! |
