Become a Legacy Donor today! |
The Legacy for the Children Society provides long-term support for Children's Beach House (CBH). Growth of the CBH endowment funds is the best way to sustain our high quality programs. Legacy gifts continue to support Ms. Lydia's vision, to help children with special needs reach their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities. By donating a gift of $10,000 or more to a CBH endowment fund or by including CBH in your estate plan, you will be recognized as a member of our Legacy for the Children Society. Gifts to the endowment funds may be paid over two or three years.
As we approach our 75th Anniversary, individuals who make gifts prior to December 2012, will be included in the Founder's Circle of the Legacy for the Children Society.

ISSUE 20 APRIL 2012
CBH Campers Assist in Breaking a World Record | |
Our junior campers, counselor staff, and case managers participated in an egg-dyeing event for the Guinness World Record! The group, along with hundreds of other area residents, visited Eagle's Nest in Milton, Delaware, for the Guinness-sanctioned, record-setting event. 606 people simultaneously dyed their eggs, breaking the previous record of 317 set in Charleston, SC.
Campers dyed one or more eggs and received a certificate of achievement for their contribution. The activity prompted much discussion about other kinds of world records and even a few wild suggestions for records to break over the upcoming summer camp season! Following the egg-dyeing event, campers participated in an egg hunt, face painting, and other group activities. Way to go campers!

61 Artists Chosen to Participate in Plein Air Coastal Delaware |
|
Three jurors have rated the work of hopeful artists for
Plein Air Coastal Delaware (PACD), an upcoming show and sale at the Children's Beach House in Lewes to
benefit three Delaware non-profit organizations. Renown art consultant Jean Athan, Sharon Ewing of Gross McCleaf Gallery, and Todd Peenstra of Peenstra Appraisals, have selected 61 finalists for the inaugural event.
Artists will migrate from town to town, on Monday, May 7, through Thursday May 11, capturing the beauty of the Delaware Coast and competing for $11,000 in cash and prizes. Judging by Fred Comegys and Clifford P. Diver will occur on Friday, May 11, after which all artwork and a winners' circle will be on display at the Children's Beach House. At 6:00 p.m., the doors open for a Patron Preview Reception, where tickets will be available for $200. At 7:00 p.m. general tickets will be on sale for $100. The artwork will remain on display for show and sale from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12. Admission is free on Saturday.
Proceeds from PACD benefit Children's Beach House, Food Bank of Delaware, and Rehoboth Art League, whose missions help children and families statewide.
