Become a Legacy Donor today! |
It is the Legacy for the Children Society that provides the most effective long-term support for Children's Beach House (CBH). Growth of the CBH endowment funds through legacy gifts is the best way to sustain and expand our high quality programs that continue to support Ms. Lydia's vision, to help children with special needs reach their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities. By donating a gift of $10,000 or more to the CBH endowment fund or by including CBH in your estate plan, you will be recognized as a member of our Legacy for the Children Society. Gifts to the endowment fund may be paid over two or three years.
As we approach our 75th Anniversary, individuals who make gifts prior to September 30, 2012, will be included in the Founder's Circle of the Legacy for the Children Society.
We hope you will contact us at 302.655.4288 for further information, and we thank you for your continued support.

ISSUE 14 September 2011 | |
Our newest event, Plein Air Brandywine Valley, is fast approaching. The Children's Beach House staff are diligently working on final details; completing site walk throughs; finalizing volunteer assignments, set-up, and decorations; and the list goes on.
The locations for the event are extremely impressive. Sites include Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, Hagley Museum, Mt.Cuba Center, Stroud Preserve, and King Ranch to name a few. The participating artists, 123 in total, are even more impressive. Some of their works can be viewed on our online gallery at
www.PleinAirBrandywineValley.org.
.
The inaugural Plein Air Brandywine Valley event kicks off on Sunday, September 25, at Bidermann Golf Course, with a private artists' reception to welcome the talent and discuss rules for the competition. This event is followed by 4.5 days of painting and photographing some of the most prestigious sites of the Brandywine Valley.
Be the first to meet the artists, view the award winning pieces and additional works at the Opening Gala on Friday, September 30, from 7p.m. - 11p.m. at Tatnall School in Greenville. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online at www.PleinAirBrandywineValley.org. If you can't make the Gala, stop in to view the artwork or make a purchase on Saturday, October 1, from 10a.m. - 4p.m. or Sunday, October 2, from Noon - 4p.m. A percentage of art sales will support Children's Beach House and Chester County Art Association.
This is an event that you won't want to miss! See you in two weeks!

A Recap of Summer | |
Children's Beach House welcomed "the CBH children" to the summer camp program in 2011. Camp doors opened to the first group, the "Juniors," on June 19.
The 8-week summer program rotates age groups, Juniors, Middlers, and Seniors, and engages each group in a wide range of age appropriate activities from comic strip publishing to horshoe crab hunting. 10 counselors and over a dozen volunteers kept our campers safe and happy all summer long!
Friday, October 14, will kick off the first weekend version of camp.
We look forward to welcoming our youngest group back to CBH and to learning about their experiences in their first weeks of school. |
Cirque Du CBH a Success | |
On Saturday, September 3, Children's Beach House hosted the annual Beach Barbecue. This year's theme, Cirque Du CBH, was full of surprises and astounding entertainment. Despite the preceeding obstacle, hurricane Irene, Cirque Du CBH was a smashing success, having raised nearly $50,000 for the organization's operating budget. CBH was blessed with beautiful weather, as 400 of our closest friends gathered to celebrate the end of another summer season.
Thanks to all staff, sponsors, volunteers, and guests for a wonderful and memorable evening! |
