Become a Legacy Donor today! |
It is the Legacy for the Children Society that provides the most effective long-term support for Children's Beach House (CBH). Growth of the CBH endowment funds through legacy gifts is the best way to sustain and expand our high quality programs that continue to support Ms. Lydia's vision, to help children with special needs reach their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities. By donating a gift of $10,000 or more to the CBH endowment fund or by including CBH in your estate plan, you will be recognized as a member of our Legacy for the Children Society. Gifts to the endowment fund may be paid over two or three years.
As we approach our 75th Anniversary, individuals who make gifts prior to September 30, 2012, will be included in the Founder's Circle of the Legacy for the Children Society.
We hope you will contact us at 302.655.4288 for further information, and we thank you for your continued support.

CBH Celebrates Founder's Day
| |
Wednesday, July 20, 2011, marked Founder's Day at Children's Beach House (CBH) located at 1800 Bay Avenue in Lewes. Children's Beach House opened their doors from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. to past and present trustees, friends, and supporters. All guests were provided with a tour of the facility and had the opportunity to observe the campers and counselors engaging in some of their favorite indoor and outdoor activities. Facility tours were followed by brief presentation regarding the history of CBH by board president, Dr. Thomas Sturgis, and former trustee, Caroline du P. Prickett. Guests then mingled and enjoyed birthday cake and punch in honor of founder, Lydia Chichester du Pont.

Local Artists Paint One-of-a-Kind Works to Support CBH | |
Nine local artists recently mingled with Children's Beach House trustees, fundraising committee members, and friends at a private residence for the unveiling of nine artworks painted exclusively for the organization. Six chests and three rocking chairs, each signed by its maker, will go up for auction during the Beach Barbecue on Saturday, August 27, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Proceeds will defray the operating costs of programs that serve at-risk children and their families statewide.
In the last three years, our loyal artists created benches, Shaker tables, and child-sized Adirondack chairs. Again, we extend heartfelt gratitude to them: SherryLee Biele, Gary Crowl, Jean Doran, Kim Klabe, Marlene Lusk, Lynne McKay, Connie Miller, Aina Nergaard Nammack, and Steve Rogers.
Thanks, also, to the local merchants who sponsored the pieces: JD's Filling Station, Nage Restaurant, and Turnstone Builders, LLC.
Be sure to view the chests and chairs in the following Lewes establishments.
- Blooming Boutique
- Aquamarine
- Citizens Bank
- Flowers by Mayumi
- Lewes Gifts
Don't miss the Rehoboth Beach businesses.
- Carltons
- Christmas Spirit
- Philip Morton Gallery
- Thunderbird Shop
