Become a Legacy Donor today!

It is the Legacy for the Children Society that provides the most effective long-term support for Children's Beach House (CBH).  Growth of the CBH endowment funds through legacy gifts is the best way to sustain and expand our high quality programs that continue to support Ms. Lydia's vision, to help children with special needs reach their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities.  By donating a gift of $10,000 or more to the CBH endowment fund or by including CBH in your estate plan, you will be recognized as a member of our Legacy for the Children Society. Gifts to the endowment fund may be paid over two or three years.

As we approach our 75th Anniversary, individuals who make gifts prior to September 30, 2012, will be included in the Founder's Circle of the Legacy for the Children Society.

We hope you will contact us at 302.655.4288 for further information, and we thank you for your continued support.

CBH Hosts March Madness Bowling Event

Bowling MattChildren's Beach House hosted a March Madness Bowling event on Friday, March 18, 2011, for the children and youth in the CBH program as well as for their family members.  The event was held at Bowlerama in New Castle, Delaware, but was attended by families from all three counties.  In total, the March Madness Bowling event drew 55 attendees.

"The idea for this event was presented to us by two of our senior Bowling 2campers," said Steven Martinenza, Program Director for Children's Beach House.  "We loved the idea and asked them to assist in the planning stages.  These campers were responsible for determining the date, contacting various locations to determine the best price, and assisting with the creation of the invitation."

Bowling CrewCBH strives to coordinate a family oriented event at least once a quarter.  The events are meant to be fun while emphasizing family bonding and communication, and often promoting physical exercise.  "It is extremely rewarding to witness our campers and their families enjoying quality time together," said Laura Beasley, CBH's New Castle County Case Manager.  "From the perspective of a CBH employee, this event was an overall success for our families and kudos to the campers that helped make the March Madness Bowling event a reality."

Campers Volunteer with the Surfrider Foundation

Beach Clean Up 1On Saturday, March 26, 2011, CBH campers, Mario and Darren accompanied CBH's Sussex County Case Manager, Matt Vest, to a beach grass planting in Bethany Beach.  This event was hosted by the Delaware Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation whose mission is to protect the local oceans, waves, and beaches.  The beach grass planting began at 9a.m. and was completed by noon.  We commend Matt, Mario, and Darren for braving the cold to help protect our beautiful beaches!
