Plein Air ShotOn Friday, March 4, with the help of Fine Line Websites & IT Consulting, Children's Beach House launched PleinAirBrandywineValley.org .  The website hosts details about the new and exciting CBH event, Plein Air Brandywine Valley, scheduled for this September 25 - October 2.  The site is host to the event schedule, participant information, artist registration, and following the event, the site will host an on-line gallery of works by the participating artists.

CBH is partnering with The Chester County Art Association on the inaugural Plein Air Brandywine Valley event.  This is a painting and photography competition, show, and sale featuring the beauty of the Brandywine Valley interpreted by the finest artists of our nation and beyond.  For one week, artists will paint and photograph the most scenic properties of the Brandywine Valley including private estates, land preserves, and renowned du Pont properties such as Longwood Gardens, Hagley Museum, Winterthur, and Mt. Cuba.  Celebrated Brandywine Valley artist, Frolic Weymouth, will judge the works which will be sold during an opening gala on Friday evening and throughout the remainder of the weekend.  A potion of the proceeds from the sales will benefit both CBH and Chester County Art Association.

Local Daycare Supports CBH by Selling Kisses

Beach BabiesBeach Babies Child Care of Lewes presented Children's Beach House with a check for $122 on Tuesday, February 22, 2011.  The children, families, and employees of Beach Babies in Lewes raised the money through their annual Kisses for Kids program.  From February 7- 11, children, parents, and teachers had the opportunity to purchase Hershey Kisses for others and attach them to a special Valentine's message.  The kisses were distributed at a Valentine's Day celebration on Monday, February 14.   "Each Beach Babies location runs their own Kisses for Kids campaign and chooses its own benefactor," said Latisha Lewis, curriculum coordinator for the Beach Babies Lewes location.  "I chose Children's Beach House because of their work with special needs children throughout the state of Delaware."

World Golf Hall of Famer Announced as Honorary Chair for CBH Golf Classic

Betsy RawlsCBH will hold their annual Golf Classic on Thursday, May 26 at The Peninsula on the Indian River Bay.  This exclusive course is Delaware's first private Jack Nicklaus Golf Course and is a sought after course among the Eastern Shore golfing community. This increasingly popular event raises funds to support the operational budget for CBH.

For the second consecutive year, CBH is pleased to welcome World Golf Hall of Famer and former LPGA Champion, Betsy Rawls as the Honorary Chair for the Golf Classic.  Rawls has had a more than impressive golf career.  She won over fifty tournaments including four U.S. Opens, two LPGA Championships, and two Western Opens.   Betsy was one of six inaugural inductees to the LPGA Hall of Fame in 1967; she was inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1987, and has since been named one of golf's "100 Heroes" by Golf Magazine.

Aside from her monumental moments on the green, Betsy is also known for her great commitment and contributions to her community.  She has served as the LPGA's tournament director and executive director of the McDonald's LPGA Championship, where she assisted in raising more than $46m for Ronald McDonald Children's Charities through her 29-year tenure.  "I am proud to be associated with the Children's Beach House," said Rawls.  "This wonderful organization works with children, families, and communities throughout Delaware to help children reach their full potential.  It is gratifying for me to see people enjoying this great game of golf while at the same time furthering such a commendable and far-reaching endeavor."

This CBH Golf Classic is a great opportunity for 128 golfers to play the private course while also supporting an amazing cause. The event scheduled to start at 11:30a.m. on Thursday, May 26 costs $175/golfer and includes time on the driving range, a boxed lunch, and a poolside barbecue buffet at 5:00 p.m.  Non-golfers are also welcome to the poolside barbecue buffet for $50/person.
