Become a Legacy Donor today! |
It is the Legacy for the Children Society that provides the most effective long-term support for Children's Beach House (CBH). Growth of the CBH endowment funds through legacy gifts is the best way to sustain and expand our high quality programs that continue to support Ms. Lydia's vision, to help children with special needs reach their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities. By donating a gift of $10,000 or more to the CBH endowment fund or by including CBH in your estate plan, you will be recognized as a member of our Legacy for the Children Society. Gifts to the endowment fund may be paid over two or three years.
As we approach our 75th Anniversary, individuals who make gifts prior to September 30, 2012, will be included in the Founder's Circle of the Legacy for the Children Society.
We hope you will contact us at 302.655.4288 for further information, and we thank you for your continued support.

Campers Head to Washington, D.C.
This February weekend will be a meaningful and educational weekend for the CBH senior campers. The seniors, whose ages range from 14 to 17, will be taking a day trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the Holocaust Museum and other museums of interest throughout the remainder of the day. "There are a total of 22 teenagers in our senior group and 16 of the teens will be joining us this weekend," said Steven Martinenza, program director for CBH. This particular group of individuals has spent years at CBH in the weekend and summer camps and because of their time spent at the Lewes facility, CBH strives to provide educational opportunities outside of CBH. "Our seniors have proven to the case managers and counselors that they are responsible and completely capable of handling these types of field trips, and it excites us to be able to provide these individuals opportunities to explore places they may not have had the chance to visit on their own," said Martinenza. |
Merrill Lynch - Dover Supports CBH

CBH trustee, Ellison Carey of Merrill Lynch - Dover, recently announced that she will be the naming sponsor for the upcoming Children's Beach House Golf Classic scheduled for Thursday, May 26th, at the Peninsula on the Indian River Bay, Delaware's first private Jack Nicklaus golf course. "What we are doing at Children's Beach House is changing lives and making a real difference for some truly special children and their families. I am so proud of our board, staff, and facilities, but especially of our children. I see this gift as an investment in them," stated Carey.
This event is a great opportunity for 128 golfers to play the private course, while also supporting an amazing cause. The event scheduled to start at 11:30a.m. on Thursday, May 26th costs $175/golfer and includes time on the driving range, a boxed lunch, and a poolside barbecue buffet at 5:00 p.m. Guests are also welcome to the poolside barbecue buffet for $50/person.
Participating in the CBH Golf Classic is a great way to kick off your Memorial Day weekend! For more information on participating in the event or for sponsorship opportunities, please visit the Children's Beach House website, www.cbhinc.org or call our Lewes location at 302.645.9184 or our Wilmington location at 302.655.4288.

In December, we reported on Emily Tull, a former CBH camper. Emily is a Sussex Technical High School student with an important mission. A senior in the school's Health Professions Program, she is currently working on a Sussex Technical Exhibition of Mastery also known as a STEM project. Emily's primary focus for her STEM project is traumatic brain injuries, however, she also has a philanthropic focus, and this focus is to raise money for Children's Beach House.
Emily set a goal to raise $2000 for Children's Beach House before the end of the school year and we are happy to report that she is half way there. We commend Emily who has raised $1,036.00 to date.
To learn more about Emily Tull's project, please contact Sussex Technical High School at 302.856.0961. To make a donation in Emily's name, please visit www.cbhinc.org or call 302.645.9184. |
