Become a Legacy Donor today! |
It is the Legacy for the Children Society that provides the most effective long-term support for Children's Beach House (CBH). Growth of the CBH endowment funds through legacy gifts is the best way to sustain and expand our high quality programs that continue to support Ms. Lydia's vision, to help children with special needs reach their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities. By donating a gift of $10,000 or more to the CBH endowment fund or by including CBH in your estate plan, you will be recognized as a member of our Legacy for the Children Society.
As we approach our 75th Anniversary, individuals who make gifts prior to September 30, 2012, will be included in the Founder's Circle of the Legacy for the Children Society.
We hope you will contact us at 302.655.4288 for further information, and we thank you for your continued support.

A New Look for www.cbhinc.org

CBH is pleased to reveal a new look on the web at www.cbhinc.org. After months of collaboration on content, format, and artwork with Lewes-based web designers, Fine Line Websites & IT Consulting, the site officially launched on Friday, January 14. The dramatically redesigned website welcomes visitors to a cheerful homepage complete with a colorful banner designed by the youth we serve. The site is very thorough with information about our mission, programs, trainings, outcomes, and special events. In addition, interested parties have the opportunity to tour a gallery of photos dating back to the 1930s, when Lydia Chichester du Pont founded the organization to help children with special needs to become functioning members of their families and communities. Most importantly, the clean, uncluttered design of this website offers visitors navigation with ease.
"Updating our site was both a necessary task and a huge undertaking," stated Rich Garrett, Executive Director of CBH. "I am proud of our staff for working together to complete this project. The end result speaks for itself. I hope our visitors find the site as helpful and informative as we do!" |
A Special Project for CBH
Members of the Seashore Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild gathered at a holiday luncheon on Monday, December 6. During the luncheon, a special project for 2011 was introduced to the group of approximately 20 members. An original canvas depicting various beach and sea themes was designed and hand painted by the group's president, Blythe Eggleston. It is a design that Eggleston created to best represent the local Lewes landmark, Children's Beach House. Throughout 2011, this canvas will be circulated to all members, allowing them to hand stitch a section of the canvas. Upon completion of this collaborative needlepoint project, the finished artwork will be framed and presented to CBH.
The American Needlepoint Guild is a non-profit organization dedicated to educational and cultural development through participation in and encouragement of interest in needlepoint.
To learn more about this needlepoint project, please contact Linda Cowan of the Seashore Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild at 302.644.1523. |
